Ringworm ffmor and SaH-Rktam. RAYXHAH, MASS., AUg«1S, 1878. CL HOOD ft Co.: Gentlemen— Ihave tod ringworm humor and salt-rheum •obadly that my body was covered with raw sores so, also, my head and face. I h&vt bad any numberol doctors in the last seven years, and none of them could cure me. One day my mother was in the city of Taunton, ana found one of your cook books, and in reading it I found many people testifying to cures from the use of your fcarsaparina and Olive Ointment. I lelt forced to try it ilthough I bad seen many things advertised that never did me any good. I have now taken two small bottles and one largo one of Sarsaparilla, and used three boxes of OlntBent. I now call myself cured. Nothing can be seen of the humor but the dim outlines of the sores. I shall take two more bottles, and then the cure will be complete.

AT IT ASAIN.

Why a Repoklieaa MeetJaf Waa Nat Mali ia Laat Creek Last Night The Express goes off half-cocked under four banks of flaming headlines this morning ia an attempt to show that the Democrats are not in favor of free discussion because the Democratic Trustee of Lost Creek township, Mr. Moody C. Ripley, refused to allow the Republicans to hold a political meeting in the school hoose at Seeleyville last n«'ght. The Ex press tries to make a point in this case by totally ignoring the facts, which are aa follows:

In refusing the Repuclicana the nee of the school house last night, Mr. Ripley was following the precedent established by his immediate predecessor, Mr. Bur gan, a Republican. That rule was that the township school booses should not be used lor political gatherings. Some thne ago Mr. Burgan got Mr. Ripley to change this rule an. Mr. Ripley consented that meetings be held up to the time school commenced and then they ehould eesse. Now, the Express, which tried hard to mske capital out of the matter, has the reason tor this refusal. As far as the "iarge crowd" that had assembled to hear the speaking, there were between twentyfive and thirty people present. The Express tearfully portrays the crowd as "shivering out in the cold". The Demo, crate of Lost Creek are very sorry indeed if any of them caught colds.

The Straw Stacker.

The straw stacker manufactory, which he secretary of the Board of Trade has been trying to excite interest in, offers very inviting profits. Fifty per cent profit on every machine sold this year is mnch below what the makers claim, but that ought to be enough to satisfy a moderate desire for profit and the tact that the manufacturers have increased their original little capital ten times ic three years, should inspire confidence in the pre Hot. The Board of Trade is desirous that all the letters and testimonials in regard to the merit of this machine be freely, thoroughly examined.

QaiekCora.

Alexander Cooper, of Lost Creek township, after he had cut hitf wheat this year plowed up the stubble on about live acres and planted it in corn. The planting was done on the 9th day of July. Th3 variety was a quick grow* Ing red eared oorn known as the Bloody ttcher. He did not think the crep would mature. But it has and ia firat rate corn now and out of danger from frost.

THE American Board of Foreign Mis. sions is in session at Columbus, O. "In consequence," says the report ot the proceedings, "of a marked disturbance in the business world, there has been a slight tailing off in the contributions of the New Yora District." Is James as fatally facile in falsehoods on this sub ject as he is in reference to his. own pub* lie conduct?
