The Louisville Drill.

The Indianapolis Journal of this morning contains an article dated Louisville saying that it i8gea«ril'y or nee led that the Crescents ol New Orleans will receive first prize at the big drill at Louisville ou yesterday. Thtf decision ut the judges will tie given this evening. How such a conclusion HS this can be arrived at is a mystery. The Crescuit City Company have never figured on what is known as a "programme drill" and have never been matched against ihe Chickasaws or Porters. How they can step in and take first money from such companies as these, is more than we can understand. We believe that, the Chickasaw Guards is the best drilled military company in the United States, and we predict that when the decision is given this evening, that it will stand in about this wise—Chicks first, Porters second, Quapaws third and the Crescents fourth. See how close we come to it.

A Niagara Falls Excursion. The Grocers' Association announces an intention of running another excursion, this time toNiagaia Falls, about the 15th of July. A rate probably as low as $5 will be secured and arrangements will be made both with hacks and hotels at the Falls at great reductions on the usual scak'B. 6illy Byers knows all the ropes and he is working the matter up.
