There was a very active trading on change to-day, and the condition of affairs was simply panicky. Wheat declined heavily, the closing being 4@5 cento below yesterday's,and the lowest price for the day being 6 cents below yesterday's highest. Corn was about 3|centa lower. Oats were a cent off, and provisions were indescribably irregular, with a decline for the day of about $1.25 on poik and sixty oents on lard. There has not been so exelting a day on change for over a year. The chief cause of the panic was the announcement of the failure of H. O. Kenyon 6 Co., a commission firm which has a very extensive trade. The extent of the failure can not be ascertained as yet,but it has captured a very large number ot operators and Is doubtless for a heavy amount. E. W. Fisher, dealer in oats, als suspended with liabilities amounting probably from.»15400 to 120,000.

HOGS—Receipts, 700 head shipments, 820 head. The market continues to move along with the same degree of firmness noted the day previous. Though there was nothing strictly urgent in the demand at rates current, yet all offerings that would bear shipping were readily taken. The receipts show some lmprovment over the past few days, but the quality don't seem to improve. Prices ruled 5@10c higher for for carefully selected hogs weighing 225 lbs and upward however, the beet lots on sale averaged but 280 lbs.. A few car-loads were belated on the I.
