Examine your receipt before leaving llie office, and see that it covers all your proporty. People are taxed for what they own on April 1st of each year.
Taxes are due on the Hist of December, and tax payers may pay the full amount of such taxes on or before the third Mouday of April or may, at their option, pay onehalf thereof on or befoie the said third Monday, and the remaining one-half on or before the tlrst Monday in November following, provided, howover, that nil road taxes charged shall .be paid prior to the third Monday in April, as prescribed by law* and provided, further, that In all cafies where as much as one-half of the amount of taxes charged against a tat payer shall not be pawl on or before the third Monday lu April, the whole amount unpaid shall beoome dna and returned delinquent, and •be collected as provided by law.
Delinquent lands are advertised on or •boat the first Monday In February, and are offered for sale on the first Monday in March of each year. The Treasurer is responsible for the taxes he eonld have collected: therefore tax-payers ought to remember that their taxes MUST be paid •every year.
