CITY COUNCIL.
A special meeting of the Common Ouncil will be held to night to take action on the decision of the Supreme Court, published in yesterday's GAZETTE, on the Cincinnati railroad case in which the city ia financially interested. It is thought probable that the Council will employ an attorney to represent them at the trial of the cause.
MAYOR'S COURT.
Wm. Howard, the one legged man who was twice released by the Mayor on promise te leave town, was rearrested for drunkenness by Policeman Early and fined $10 06.
Policemen Greggs, Cain, Miller and Hanisch about il o'clock last night raided the house of prostitution kept by Sail Miller* on south First street. The following girls were taken brides the manageress: Love Miller, Eliza Willanis, Sis Haslet, Flora Kelly, Mary Moore and Minnie Howard. Harry Norton and Ed. Johnson were arrested for associating. Sail Miller was lined $26.40 and each of the girls $16.40, with the exception of Lova Miller, and Minnie Howurd, both of whom promised to leave the etty immediately. The two men plead •not guilty" and wer£ fined $20.40 each.
Jennie Hubbard and James Mahan were arrested last night in the West End, the former for beintt a wandering prostitute and the latter for associating. Hubbard promised to leave town ana Mahan was fined $19.90.
Pat White was fined $10.65 for drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Lieutenant Vandever yesterday evening arrested Mrs. Louise Smith, daughter of Janitor Henry Tate, for disorderly conduct and using abusivw language. The woman resisted and bit the officers hand and the latter was compelled to choke her until she desisted. The complaint was made out, signed by the officer, and the case was about to be called for trial when Vandever withdrew the charge and the woman was released

George Schlotzer was arrested yesterday by Policeman Oakey on suspicion of having stolen anew dress (-oat and an umbrella that he carried. The coat ws^ afterwards identified as the property of Attorney Stimsoaj and'the umbrella, as belonging to Attorney Mack. Schlotzer was taken before Justice Cookerly yesterday evening, who comm&tted him to jail in defanlt of $300 bond. Schlotzer i* a bad character, having served several teims in the penitentiary.

Adam Walter, the garbage man, filed a complaint for provoke against Wm. Hackett and a warrant was issued for the tatter's arrest. Hackett threw stones at

Gibson was remanded to jail between 4 and 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon by Justice Steinmehl. Before leaving the station house he is reported as saying: "Those God damned sons of b—s of reporters, I'll get even with them.' At the jail he said to the sheriff: "Can't you give me that side cfcll and send Jessie Fetters over to the station house." "No" replied the sheriff "you're no better than anybody else. Go in with the other prisoners."
Gibson is displaying a fitful show of petulant bravado. He says he fears nothing and that he will get out of the scrape all right. ^,

Mr. Durkan, administrator of the murdered man's estate, has made an important discovery. Several of the account books kept by Hall are missing. The books were seen in the saloon as late aa the day of the murder, but nothing can be found of them now. f|f|
