MATRIMONIAL JEIZES.

A Complete List of the Marriageable Peers of Great ritain.

i, Mr. C. L. Annderson, now editor of the Saturday Evening lienor# a bright weekly paper published at Dayton Ohio, has recently compiled the following, which the GAZKTTE copies."!

For the benefit of ambitious mammas with manageable daughters, and for the benefit of ladies disposed to take carc of themselves in such matters, wchavecom-

iled a of the notable lords of Great who have not yet chosen brides. This list does not include baronets, but is confined to peers of the realm. The lady who was formerly Miss Minnie King of Georgia, has' made two malrimonial alliances

with

noble houses of England, and

she is still a young woman. Several years ago Miss King was married to the lion. Mr. Wodehouse,a brother of the Earl of Iviinberly. Mr. Wodehouse was so accommodating as to die young and make way for the noble Marquis of Anglesey to whom Mrs. Wodehouse was married only the* other day. Most of our American girls, however, may consider themselves lucky if they succeed in catching one of these rare birds. Without furthur preface wc will proceed to introduce their lordships:

Bertram Ashburnliam, fifth |earl of Afihburnham. age 40. Deputy j\ for Brecon. Country seat, conshire. Town residence,! street, West. Landed estate, 25 four cities. Incomr, $1JU,7H! iv in on Titlq created in 1730. A good catch.

It is not in the nature of things for Lord Berwick to live many years longer, and the lady who marries him will probably be so fortunate as to find herself a widow before many years with the title of Dowager Lady Berwick.

Colin Blackburn, first. Baron Blackburn, age 67. Lord Blackburn was elevated to the peerage in 1876 for his eminent services as a jurist. He is now a judge of the court of appeals, with a salary of $30,000 per annum. The title dies with him.

It will be observed that some of these noble gentlemen are old fellows, some are in the prime of life, some^are young men, some are youths and some are small boys. Some are very wealthy others are poor. We venture to suggest that the poor ones are the surest game. The rich ones will be suspicious of you. They will think you have designs on their fortunes as well as their noble titles. The poor ones will know you are after a title, but they will not care if you are rich.

In this list only the income from landed estates is given. Their lordships doubtless have other sources of revenue which they have concealed from The Record We have reduced the English pounds sterling to dollars.

GENTLEMEN On the first day of May last, the Democracy of Vigo County instructed its delegates to the Judicial Convention to vote for me for prosecuting Attorney. Vigo County has a major ity of the delegates in the district. The instructions, if followed, would, therefore, settle the question as to who would be tlie nominee of said convention. Believing that the question should not be foreclosed, before the meeting of joint convention, and being desirous that perfect harmony should prevail throughout the circuit, I am willing to go into said convention leaving the delegates to vote for whom they see fit, and releasing so far as is in my power the said Vigo county del egates from any obligation to vote forme by virtue of said instructions.
