THE M'KEEN ^CADETS ENTERPRISE. The McKSIn Cadets have decided to begin recruiting to raise another company, so as to be able to form a battalion in the spring. Y'oung men sending their names up for membership must be 18 years of age, live feet, five inches high and of good tnon.1 standing. The new men as they enter will be placed- in „. the ranks of the second company and it is hoped to have enough in this company to make a good showing in the summer, at least. There i* hot a company in the United States that have made the progress the old company of Cadets have, and it is something to encourage the rifcw men who may come in to the new company. Cfip.'aim Friend will drill both companies until the (flection in June next, when a captain and other oiliceis will be elected by each company, and a major for the battalion. Arrangements have already been made for the tarnishing of a large armorv as early as May isr, and when this is accomplished the Cadets will be in a flourishing condition indeed. They are considered now as one of the best drilled cotnpanies in the West. They have a band that is coming to the' front as fast as themselves and we cannot see what is to keep them from forming another company, and making it as good as the other one. The next regular meeting of the company will be field on Monday night, and parents who desire to have their s,ns developed physically should see that they join this new company. Boys are kept under strict military discipline while in the armorv, and one is only to visit the quarters of the company to' see that a young man will lwarn a great many useful lessons from this service. We believe in encouraging any organization that is deserving, and the McKeen Cadets surely deserve all the help that can be given" them. JL.et the young men who desire to join the Cadet Battalion 6end up their names on Monday night accompanied by the proper amount and recommendation. 3» 1,-
