From Friday's JUily CRIMINAL COURT.

Taylor was arraigned this morning before judge Long, to receive hia sentence The court read the record of the case to the prisoner, and asked him if he had any legal cause to show why the sentence of the court should not be pronounced. Taylor answered "No," and the court pronounced the sentence. Taylor then asked if he had a right to say a few words, and upon the court answering in the affirmative, Taylor said that the sentence was a little' too heavy and he hoped the good people of Terre Haute would assist him some day in get ting him rf pardon. He-further said that the most of the testimony against him was true, {but that ofiUlricb and Watkins, whose testimony, be said, was false It was with difficulty that Taylor could say these few words, so great was his emotion.
