THERE are some half dozen or more bad boys in the Fifth Ward, who play truant during school hours, and frsqnent the alleys in the interim—throwing stones and missiles of every description at the old persons, and at the same time using very profane, filthy and obscene language. From Than lay's Daily. A,.

Last night the appended articles pf agreement were passed by the respective congregation* of the two Presbyterian churches in this city:

First. The two churches to vote on the question of union on the basis of mutual confidence each in the other, trust ing that each will vie with the other In doing that which will promote the interest of the United Church,- leaving the individual churches, as such, aad their members, as such, entirely out of the question, and thus leaving the settlement of all questions that may arise, such as the disposition of the property, the place of worship, the election of officers, etc., entirely to the United Church, every one binding hipiself to abide by the decision of the majority without murmuring.

Second. After the churches have voted on and adopted this basis of Unions let a meeting of the Presbytery be called! upon the joint petition, of the sesaions, fof the purpose of granting its permission td the two churches.

Third. After permission has been given by the Presbytery, let each church select three of its members to act As Trust' ees for the United church, to whom the present Trustees of each church shall convey all property, personal, and reai, in the manner provicfed by the statues of the state for the union of churches, and after these acts have been fully consummated the churches shall cease to exist as First and Second churches.

Fourth. Th*t the new church 6hall proceed to organize on an equitable and charitable basis, electing a full corps of officers from the membership without rer gard to past Incumbents, adopt and establish all needful regulations, by-laws, and rules to carry out the objects of the organization—having in all these steps due re&ard for the spiritual welfare and harmonious action of the church.

Fiflh. The new church shall be known as the Presbvteriafl church of Terre Haute, Indiana, and snail worship in one of the church edifices owned by the church, as may be determined upon by the session, until a permanent house cSf worship may be secure.

Sixth. That the Trustee* shall, as soon as practicable, dispose of the real estate of the Church oh the best term possible, provided the same shall not needlessly sacrificed, and from the p: ceeds thereof and ttiCh other funds may be received for that purpose, a ne church building sbali be erected on som convenient and centrally located lot,

deemed best to dp so. Seventh. That it be recommended

extend a call to Rev. Edward W. Abbey to become the pastor of the United Church.

The two congregations met Separately. The First church adoptfd all the articles unanimously except the seventh. There were twenty-two out of seventy vo.es against this seventh article, those SO voting in the negative explaining that they did so in no spirit of objection to Rev. Mr. Abbey, but In the belief thft the selection of a pastor should be left to the church when united. The article was adopted.

In* the aeeotrt stapofctneeuoff^the tides were all adopted by unanimous consent, except the seventh, which was carried by a handsome majority though with some dissenting voices.

Mr. Abbey desired that the seventh aragraph be withdrawn, until hearing rom a messenger that the other church had passed it. ^ii-

The board of county commissioners, accompanied by Charles T.- Burton, attorney for the board, and a GAZKTTP ambassador, went to Vincennes and Sullivan yesterday. Several years ago two young men named Thompson, living in Sullivan county, committed some offense tor which they were prosecuted. A change cif venue was taken from Sullivan to Vigo county, and also from Judge Pattferson. The case was tried with Mr, Viehe, an attorney at Vin-j cenhesi on the bench.
