I also believe that the .deceased premeditated self-destruction. Deceased was about forty years of age. and leaves a second wife and three children by his former wife.

between Thirteenth and Thirteenth-and-a-half streets, sought to end his life by taking a dose of morphine. Physicians were summoned and antidotes Administered to the man, but ill to no avail, and he breathed his last this morning. The decea«ed was about

carpenter by trade, but of late he had not been working at his trade, but was employed in the Vandalia freight house, until about a week ago when he quit. The deceased was married wr.'ice, had tr-,: ee children by his first wife, but none his last wife.
THE INQUEST.
Coroner Henry Ehrennardt was summoned and held the inquest as follows: Dr. T. W. Morehead being sworn, Hays: Was called at half-past six was told that deceased had taken morphine when I arrived, found deceased in great agony the poison had been taken at least three hours previous administered antidotes but was satisfied that there was no remedy as the poison had been in his Htomach too long.

Mrs. Hale being sworn, says: That de ceased told her in the morning that he intended killing himself that he was going clown town and perhaps would be back in the evening and perhaps not came bftck about4 o'clock withe package of morphine, and showing it to me, said "what would you think if I should take this." I am tired of living but den't blame anyone but myself ani before I could reach him he had swallowed it.

last night Mr. Jno. T. Wiley
died at his residence on Ohio street after a lingering illness. Mr. Wiiej was an exceedingly energetic voung business man.
He built up a good insurance and firstclass reputation as a commercial collector. Of late, however, an affection of the lungs has wasted his strength. Some lipie since he returned from a trip to Kansas and Colorado, and seemed considerably improved in health. The gain was, however, deceptive and he at once commenced sinking. He leaves a wife and children.
