NOTICE TO DUALISTS.
To the litor of the Sew York ?s. While the horrible detlils of the san guinary conflict at Slaughter Gap are iresh in the minds of your reader*, jper mit me to call the atlenti of intending duelists to the manifold advantages of "Patent Parisian Powder" and the '"Pulverized Bullet," over ordinary ammunition. "Patent Parisian," otherwise known as "Safety Dueling," has been used in countless "aiff.iirs of honor" in fiurope and else where, and so far it has given entire sat»f(iction. The tharpest tye will not distinguish between "Patent Parisian" and genuine gnnpowder. P.P. makes quite as much noise, and twice as much smoke but iti strength is proportioned to the length of the barrel in which it i* used. Accompanying each package of this convenient compound, is a scde showing how much is to be used per inch, an 1 accurate instructions for loading. Real leaden bullets can be safely used with P. P. as its explosive force gives the leaden messenger an initial velocity which only atnounU to a gentle start. 'J'ho propeling force being entirely exhausted bv the time thf'bullet oo'/es from the muzzle, the deadly missile drob* peacefully at the feet of the tiiitn who fii'd it. Dose to be icpcatcd, as per scribed "r tin- code, until honor is satisfied. 'With 1be "Pulverizfil liuilvt" full charges of powder can !•.• used. The buM.-t is made of charcoal dust, mixed with thin solution of gturi arabic. The outside iff co.iK'd with block teau in such a minner that it exactly. resembles the gennine articlj. The force of the powder, of course, reduces this improved projcctiic to'fiarmles* diist l'efore it leaves the muzzle of the nuirdcious weapon. Absolu'e safety is guaranteed to combatant.*-, seconds, surgeons, and outside spectator#.
With "Patent Parisian Powder" and the "Pulverized Bullet" the awful carnage which recently reddened the snows ot Slaughter Gap wMi the best blood of New York and Baltimore might have been averted.

FELINE ATTACHMENT.
Norwich Bulletin.
A little four year old daughter of one ot our citizens has a kitten that shows an uncommon degree of attachment for its little mistress. The child will take the kitten under one arm and with the other loaded with her playthings, carry them about the house all day long, talkin meanwhile to the kitten as a mothe would to a child. They are almost in separable companions, and when the little girl is away from home the kitten wild i:i its Ionesomeness, and shows the greatest joy on the return of its compan ion by leaping into her arms and laying its head on her shoulder, purring her sat isfaction in so loud a manner as to attract the attention of all in the house. A few evenings since the little girl was put to bed while the kitten wa? asleep behind the stove, and the bed-room door closed The kitten, on awakening, wandered through the rooms in search of her, play mate, to have her regular evening frolic, but could not find her. Then she was trouble, and showed her feelings by thr most piteous cries. She would wildly run from one room to another, jump inthe'laps of alt in the room, and, not finding her friend, would jump on to the bed, turn over the pillows, work herself under the clothing, and not finding her there would run swiftly about the house uttering pitiful wails. Finally si 'found the child's clothing, and for a moment was happy. She pulled them out. of the chair atpd dfagagd them partly acro$s the room, an&.^itily 'la/ddwn upori' them for a livgmeti H' 'But they Were inanimate, and the oncTslic wanted was'riot' there.
