and nv.iiled themselves of his wonderfully efficacious mt'dirines, they would not have fallen. Dr. jM-henek has in his own casa proved that wherevrr sutheient vitality remains, that vitality, by his medicines and his directions for their use, is quickened into healthful vigor. in this statement there is nothing presumptuous. To the faith of the invalid is made no representation thai is not a thousand times sub* tftnnthited by living and visible works. Tho theory of the cure by Dr. Schenck's medicines is as simple as it is unfailing. Its philosophy requires no argumeut. It Is self-assuring, self-con-

vecd Tonic and Mandrake Tills are tho
first two weapons with which tho citadel of tho malady is assailed. Two thirds of the cases of consumption originate in dyspepsia and a functionally disordered liver, with this condition the bronchial tubes "sympathize" with tho stomach. They respond to the morbific action of tho liver. Here then comca tho culminating result, mid tho setting in, with all its distressing symptoms of
CONSUMPTION.
Tho Mandrake Pills are composed of one of Nature's noblest gifts—tho IVdophillum I'eltatum. Th«*y possess all the blood-searchinir, alterativa properties of calomel, but, unlike calomel, they "I-EAVE NQ STING BEHIND."
Tho work of cure Is now beginning. The vitiated and mucous deposits in tho bowels and in the nliinontury canal aro ejected. Tho liver, llko a clock, is wound up. It arouses from its torpidity. The stomach acts responsively, and tho patient begins to feel that he is getting, at last,
A SUPPLY OF (JOOD BLOOD. Tho Sea-weed Tonic, in conjunction with tho Tills, permeates and assimilates with the food. Chylittcation is now progressing without its previous tortures. Digestion becomes painless, and the cure is seen to boat hand. There is no more tlatulence, no exacerbation of the stomach. An appetite sets in.

Now comes the greatest Blood Purifier ever vet ,t *yr its functions and to hasten and compfeto tho cure. It enters at once upon its work. Naturo cm not be cheated. It collects and ripens tho impaired and diseased portions of tho lungs. In the form of gntherings.it prepares them for expectoration, and lo! in a very slu-rt time tho malady is vanquished, tho rotten throne that it occupied is renovated and made new, and tho natient, in all tho dignity of regained vigor, steps forth lo enjoy tho manhood or womanhood that was
GIVEN UP AS LOST.
The second thing is, the patients must stav in a warm room until they get well it is almost impossible to prevent taking cold when the lungs are diseased, but it must be prevented or a euro can not bo effected. Fresh air and riding out, especially in this section of tho country, fn tho tall and winter season, aro all wrong." Physicians who recommend that course lose their "patients, if their lungs are badiv dieased: and yet, because they are in the house they must not sit down quiet they must ilk about the room as much and as fast as tho strength will bear, to get up a good circulation of blood. The patients must keep tu good spirits—be determined to get well. This has great deal to do with tho appetite, and is the great point to gain.
To despair of cure after Mich rvidenco of its possibility in the worst cases. *d moral certainty in nil others. isi«fu!. 1 Schcuek's personal statement to the Faculty ft' his own euro was hi those modest words:
Many years aco 1 was in the last stages of ?'*.nMimption: routined to niy bed. and at one time my physicians thought that 1 could not live week: then, like a drowning man catching at straws, 1 heard of and obtained tho preparations whieh I now offer to the public, am! thev made a ivrfeet cure of me. The directions for takins the medicines are adapted to the intelligence even of a child. Follow- thee directions, ami kind Nature will do the rest, excepting that in some cases the Mandntko Pills are to bo taken in increased doses the three medicines need no other accompaniments than the ample instructions that accompany them: First create appetite. FOSTER BROTHERS
There Never Was Before Known!
Such "a rattling among the dry bones" of the old High-priccd D.y Goods Stores, as when upon Wednesday, April 26, we broke the pric of the best yard-wide
llills and Lonsdale Muslins to 12 1-2 cts per Yard.
The members of "THE RING" wero struck dumb with amazemont. For twenty-four hours they hardly had courage enough to say their souls were their own. For awhile they refused to believe it to be true, but when they found it really wan a fact, they made an organized effort to get these goods out "f our hands by buying them of us. We stopped this nice little game of theirs by refusing sell more than twenty-five yards at a timo to any one customer, which rule has enab' is to place these goods in the hands of our customers, for whom they were intended. Tl.-. ews of this,
The Boldest of all our Attacks on tL Cotton Market!
Has spread far and wide, and New York, Philadelphia ani Chicago Merchants have all acknowledged themselves out-done and undersold. Not even "tho Poll Parrot» of the Terre Haute Dry Goods Trade'' have attempted to follow Us in this new onslaught of ours upon high prices. They have thus, one and all of them, acknowledged before all tho peoplo of Terre Haute and of the surrounding country, that they give over the con(c«(,and admit that
TIIEY CANXOT COMPETE WITH OVJR PRICES
'.~e invite the people to note that fact. Heretofore certain of tho old stores have always prctei:cd to follow us in whatever reductions we have made in the prices of goods. It is true have never been first to make any of these reductions, and that they have never even profes ftl to sell cheaper than we, still they have always claimed to follow us whenever we have put down the prices on any portion of our stock. Sometimes they have really done so, when the articles reduced were such as their customers were acquainted with and would bo apt to detect them should they charge more for these goods than our advertised prices. However, upon I)rcs3 Goods. Shawls, Cassimeres, Carpets, Parasols. Ac..Jthey argue that their customers will not find them out even if they do charge moro than we and so upon these goods they months ago gnve up all attempts at eompeting with tis. But noic it seems that even upon goods so well known as Hills and Lonsdale Muslins, they persist in charging their customers 17c and 18c a yard, while ice have for weeks been selling them for 12Kc, having sold many thousands of yards at that price. They oven tell their customers thzt they cannot buy these goods for what we sell them for, thus thoughtlessly proving true what we have long asserted and they have long denied, namely: Thathaving Restores all doing an immense business, ice buy so largely as often lo enable ui to sell goods at lower prices thnnother stores can buy them. Thus as the months go by, our enemies themselves are reluctantly forced to bear testimony to our fidelity to the people who have ever stood by us through evil and through good report. A year ago we said in one of our advertisements,
"We Propose to Stand by Those Who Have Stood bjr us
That is our position still. All our efforts in the future, as in the past,'will not be simply to ndvanco ourowu interests, but also the interests of our friends and customers.
