The State law, however, is not enforced, and we have no doubt, under the existing state of affairs, but that a citv ordinance, rf enacted, would be treateI in the same manner.
HORSE KILLED.—Near Honey Creek, on Thursday morning, a young man drove into the woods to cut a load of wood and very carelessly left his team standing near where he was cutting a tree. The result was soon evident to him in finding the horses knocked down by the tree, one of them with a broken leg and other injuries, and another with an eye gouged out. —————
ONE of the most absurd acts ever passed by an Indiana Legislature, not even excepting the "provoke law," is the exemption of five acre lots from city taxation, provided said lots are held for agricultural purposes. The idea of raising corn, potatoes and other "truck" within the limits of a populous city is of itself an absurdity. Land is too valuable for that. But the law was only intended to enable rich persons to hold large lots of land on speculation, without being compelled to pay city taxes.

-L AME RAPHAEL is the best. She succeeds when all others have failed. All who are in trouble—all who have been unfortu-nate^-all whose fond hopes have been disappointed, crushed and blasted by false promises and deceit—all who have been misled and trifled with—all fly to her for advice and satisfaction. All who are in doubt of the affections of those they love, consult her to relieve and satisfy their minds.
In Love Affairs She Never Fails.
.She has the secret of winning the affections of the opposite sex. She shows you the likeness of your future wife or husband, or absent friend. She guides the single to a happy marriage, and makes the married happy. Iter aid and advice has been solicited in innumerable instances, and the result has always been the means of securing A Speedy and Happy Marriage. She is, therefore, a sure dependence. It is well known to the pnblie at large that she was the first and she is the only person in this country who can show the likeness in reality and who can give entire satisfaction on all the concerns of life, which can be tested and proved by thousands, both married and single, who daily and eagerly visit her.
To all in business her advice is invaluable. She can foretell: with the greatest certainty, the result of all commercial and business transactions.
Lottery numbers given without extra charge. MADAME RAPHAEL is a bona fide Astrologist that every one can depend upon. She is the greatest Clarivoyant of the nineteenth century. It is that well-known fact that makes illicit pretenders copy her advertisements and try to imitate her.
