THE Hon. D.* W. Yoorhees is employ ing the summer in maturing an elaborate financial scheme which he will present at the, next session of Congress.—-Lafayette Dispatch.
We trust that all Congressional finan fcial sehemss will remain in embryo, The country has had enough of them.—
The Democratic State organ does not seem to entertain a very exalted opinion of 'Mr. Voorhees' ability as a financial doctor. ————— A FEW days ago Mr. Wm. Gauff, a young man living near Liberty, Union county, started out for a day's. sport.— When he arrived at the woods he found but one of the barrels of his gun loaded and at once proceeded to charge the other one and as he was ramming down the charge he struck the hammer of the gun against the fence with such force that it caused the cap to explode and the gun to be discharged. The shot took off two of his fingers and passed into his abdomen. Some of his friends being near, noticed the accident, and conveyod him home, where he lingered in great agony until near night, when he died. —————
