The corn is about all in, and, though the season has been a little cold, it promises well Fruit of every kind is abundant. The unusually mild winter gave the crop a fine start, and it is now farther advanced than ever known at this •eason of the year. The only danger apprehended is that of wet weather the ensuing month, which would make the wheat so rank in growth that a little wind would prostrate it.

CRIMINAL COURT.—In this court Monday afternoon, Dr. Isaac Whittaker was put on trial for killing James Miller, in Owen Creek township, on the 12th of September last. Messrs. Thompson and Pierce appeared for the prosecution, and Messrs. Baird, Cruft and Mack for the defense.
