CHICAGO. April 6.—The Common Council of this city last night passed resolutions looking to a grand commemoration of the opening of the Pacific railroad. A committee consisting of the Mayor and five members of the Council was appointed, who were authorized to invite at such time as the managers of the Central, the Union Pacific and North Western roads shall appoint to bring the guests to Chicago. The Governors and their staffs of the States of California, Oregon and Njevada, and of the Territories of Washington, Idaho, Montana, Dakota, Utah, Wyoming and Colorado. The members of the Legislatures of the
several States and Territories above nam-
ed, and the Judges of their several courts. The Mayors and Common Councils of the of San Francisco, Sacramento and of such other cities as they may select in California, of the city of Portland in Oregon, of Virginia City in Nevada, of Denver in Colorado, and the Mayor and Council and leading citizens of such oth-
er cities in the States and Territories above named, as the said committee of this council and citizens shall deem best and most appropriate.
