Indianapolis Journal of yesterday
has another article on the infamous trans
action at the Union Depot in that city
from which wo take tho following
Tho real quostion is as to Bisbing's brutal attack on the passenger, and in this respect our statement yesterday was ovon moro favoralilo to tho Marshal than aro tho facts in tho case. It appears bo first struck Lee over the head threo heavy blows with his mace, and then, putting that weapon in his pocket, drow a slung shot and dealt his victim such a blow as to knock him senseless, in which condition the Marshal carried him to the door and throw him on the floor of tho depot, as a butcher would the carcass of an ani mal, or as a porter would a pieco of bagrage. What increases tho onormity of tho outran is 'iLee made no resistance to tile officer beyond refusing to leave the car, and holding on to tho scat while thov were pulling at him nor did he striko or offer to striko tho officer.— And then to erown the outrage, the Marshal marches his victim off to jail, to lie there all nicht with tho wretches that make up tlie'populalion of a prison.
Judge Scott, in tho impudent prosecution instituted against Loo by Bisbing, ...formed tho Marshal that the man bad committed no offense calling for his in* terferencc with maces and slungshots.— Mr. .Lfo has employed counsel to demand reparation from tho Company, tho officers of whom aro now investigating the af-1 fair. And if the Union Depot Company do not wish to bo considered as indorsing the outrage, they will summarily dismiss Mr. Bisbing. anil substitute for him some
gentleman who has a more befitting sense of his authority,.and less, brutality in its exercise.
We fully indorse the concluding suggestion of the Journal. The Depot Com
pany owe it to common decency to put
such a man, as Bisbing, out of tbeir em
ploy forthwith. They should-not per
mit him to "stand upon the order, .of his
going." We would also suggest, for the
benefit of others who may be treated as
Lee was, that the tiinehas gone by when
it was good policy for colored men to
submit without resistance—prompt, ef
fectual resistance—to a brutal outrage.

purged themselves of their contempt, but
the number stated abovo refusod to re

Which Frank Keslor was seriously woun

it seems aro brothors-in-law, and having
recently been engaged in tearing down a
building of some kind, each claimed the
lumbar as his own. They had been quar-
roling over tho matter for several days,
and on Wodnosday night, Kesler attemp
ting to carry away a portion of tho lum
bor, Kunkol ran into his houso near by,
and procuring a double-barreled shot
gun, came out and discharged both bar
rels at Kesler. Some of the shot took
effect in his side, while others striking his
eyes, destroyed the sight hopelessly, it ii
thought. His wounds are quite serious
but probably not mortal. Up to last ac
counts Kunkol had not been arrrostec.
