Terre Haute has a young lady of somnambulistic propensities. A few nights agi. a watchman discovered this young lady in hor night clothes, crouching behind a fence. She explained to him that she had been walking in her sleep, and had awakened suddenly, finding herself in a strange part of the city. She named the locality where she lived, and followed behind the policeman at some distance. As they reached a corner house she recognised, sho said, "I know my way, now, sir, thank you good night," and ran quickly up a cross street to ber residence.

Jones has but recently come to this city, and is out of employment. He was married to a Miss Brumet about ton days since, and it is believed that a want of funds to keep up tho married state under the present era of extravagance, cauced him to take this summary manner to "escape the ills we have and fly to those we know not of." STRANGE ADVENTURE
OF A
YOUNG
—Tho following strange story of uffering which appeared in yesterday's Journal, is verified by the receipt of a dispatch from tho parents of the unfortunate girl, dated at Oswego, and inquiring as to her whereabouts. We quote from the Journal:
About ten days ago, a young lady was found wandering about in Otter Creek township in a crszed state of mind, very thinly clad and apparently enduring groat mental and physical sufforing. Her singular conduct and the fact that she appeared to have no place of habitation attracted the attention of the people, and she wa? finally taken charge of by the township trustee who sent her to the poor asylum. When the poor creature went to that institution she was a raving lunatic, and her physical condition was terrible, having had both her feet so badly frozen that she
WHS
unable to stand and
it was feared that amputation would be found necessary to save her life The officers of the asylum have given the unfortunate every attention, and within the last four or five days she has nearly regained her proper mind, and is now able to tell her sad story.
Her name is Pamelia Robinson. She is about 22 years of age, and 13 from Osweco, New York, where her parents reside^ her father being an old gentleman of wealth and prominence in that locality. The young lady is prepossessing in appearance, highly educated, and of modest deportment. She says she left her father home in New York with the intention of visiting a married sister living in
Parke county, near Rockville. From some reason, for which she does not ac count, she lost her reason on arriving at ttos point, and she has no memory of cveats from the timo she reached the depot irnil a few days since.
In o*o of her dresses, found in the wix-ds in Otter Creek township, was a pocket book containing a good sum of money and a check drawn by ber father on an Oswego bank for $400. In the pocket of the dissg was also found a railroad check for hei baggage, and her trunk w^s found at the dbpot last Saturday. It wa* well filled wr.h a nice wardrobe, which corroborat. the statement of her condition in life
The friends of the young lady in Parke county have been written to, and they will doubtless be swift in flying to the aid and rescue of their unfortunate relative, who has so narrowly escaped a horriole death. Tn the meantime she ""ill receive every attention from tho kind and humane managers of the Asylum.
