He gave a brief, but concise, history of the two parties from 1860 to the present: showed the sympathy existing between the rebels and the party duting the war, and the. alliance formed between them at the New^Yorfc Convention. He discussed the bond question considerably, calling attention to the fact that the platform was susceptible of two constructiona upon that point.
