THE ALARM or VIRE yesterday morning about one o'clock was caused by the burning of the farmhouse and outbuilding of Mr. Jonas Perkins, about three miles north of Main street. The house was entirely consumed. Loss about $1,200 The household goods were saved. The fire Is supposed to., hive been caused by leaving hot ashes in a wooden vessel. Both the fire steamers went up, but were inefficient on account of the lack of water.

Thursday drew from the State Treasury this county's portion of the School Fund, amounting to $21,644 39. He had previ. ously paid into the Treasury the State taxes due from this county, amounting to 77,550 71, including $24,771 84 on account of school tax. With about half a dozen exceptions the various fcounty Treasurers in the State have settled with the State authorities, and the few tardy ones will doubtloss report shortly^
