-jtoncjx Harbor,Iitd., Dec 28, l8£t Ms. Editor: Some time ago the BoaM of County, Commissioners .ad«p£ed some Tales for the governmentoftbeir business transactions, and among" them was one requiring ill matter to fee presented five days before acted upon. Bat, not with standing this rule, tbe Medical Director of tbe Board, at tbe very moment peti tions, memorials, were to be passed .upon tbe last evening beforo adjournment on the 20th inst., sneakingly pulled a little Democratic petition out of hie pocket, which had never seen the light save in Democratic dens, praying tho Board to chance tbe voting precinct Fayette township from Sanford to the Vermillion School Houeo. The petition was signed by about thirty Democrats and not a single Republican's name to It which is sufficient proof that it was a Democratic trick and not an honest expression of the wishes of tbe voters of that precinct besides we know very well that baa the people generally known such a move was on foot they could and would have presented a remonstrance with three times as many names to it.— But the object of the whole scheme is to get the polls as far away as possible from tbe large Union majority about Sandford and more immediately under the good wholesome Democratic influences about St. Marys, and tbat there wili, in all probability, be some at every election who can not well leave their business at Sandford to eo three or four miles into the backwoods to vote, and in view of theso advantages to Demooracy it was so ordered to be changed.
