On Friday last, in ixst Creek Township, near Waithoo, in this eoaaty, a difficulty occured between

The Mormons^
There is liule doubt but that the Gen. Government will have to interfere, sooner or later in tbe Territory of Utah. Governor Brigham Young is evidently unfit for the office, being a coarse and brutal character —as any one will admit who reads the late advices from Utah in the General News, including a speech of tbe Governor's relative to tbe proper mode of dealing with apostates. As soon as any considerable number of these apostates or of those who never have been members of the Mormon sect, have taken up their abode in tbe Territory, a Governor that is not a Mormoo will lysve to be appointed. We are not desirous of abridging the Mormons in the enjoyment of their just rights: but they must be tsught, if need ,be, thst "apostates" from their sect have just ss good a righl to live in peace in Utah Territory, or anywhere else State's soil as themselves.

Who is Fanny Pen!
Any authentic statement which may throw some light upon the identity of this personage, will, we are sure, prove interesting to our readers. It seems from statements lately made, from a very reliable source, that this lady has been twice married. Her first husbsnd was C. H. Eibridge* cashier of the Merchants's Bank of Boston, who died five years ago, bequeathing to Fanny an empty purse and a legacy of three children. "After some time, she again united herself in the holy bands of matrimony with S. P. Faringt&n, a merchant in the same city, a widower, and father of two children. This second match proved an unhappy one. and Mr. Farington removed to the west, we believe Wisconsin, where he still resides, and where he lately procured a divorce from his late partner, Fanny.

The Three Generals.
Of the three military chieftains—Washington Bonaparte and Wellington-Washin-gton, by all odda, exhibited the finest specimen ofphysioal manhood. Bonaparte was in bis youth a very handsome man in his age he was decidedly passe Wasington from his earliest youth to the hour of his departure, had a benignant expression in which serenity and goodness ever warred for the mastery. Wellington's face was th Jr of a martinet: and had what is oaUed a vineger aspect: it was stern, but not intelligent in its general expression. Of the three in maturity, Washington's exibrted more forcibly "the action of the mind within. Napoleon, in youth, was slim in form, rather meagre in outline in age, quite corpulent, or rather pussy, approaching the obese. In height, Napoleon was about five (eel six inches, and when not on horseback, was rather insignificant looking, and would in a crowd have passed unnoticed, but for his marked intellectual characteristics. The Rev. A. S. Robertson, editor of the Practical Preacher, who haa traveled and preached extensively and successfully, in vsrious denominations for mauy years alluding to the evils of the choir system in our churches says: r*
Devotional feelings and spirituality are scarcely thought of. In many congregations the lips of the pious are sealed, and the singing is driven almost out of the house of God, into acorner, or into a gallery. There is quite a theatrical performance between curtains, music books, pitch pipes andjiddles, and all this under the immediate supervision of the young, vain and irreligious of the community.
How ridiculous the attitude of the minis, ter who under such circumstances, would deliver the apostolic sdmonition, "Sing with the spirit and the understanding, with grace in your hearts.'

We wish to call the attention of the public to a source of luxury, comfort and happineas—to past uegl.-ctaud a present opportunity of amendment. The numerous cases of baldness in America is truly surprising. The young cannot take warning, or the old apply the remedy too soon. Who that is aid, but would avert baldness? Who that is middle aged but shudders at gray hairs? Who that is young but values the luxuriant locks of youth and bwiuty?
