upon such principles as to merit the confidence of the public, and so to combine the tasteful and beautiful with the useful in our very extensive sortment of goods, to render our house a favorite place of resort with ail classes of buyers
Our success thus far has fully met our expectations, but our aim is onward, and we have the most confident expectations that we shaN this year gain largely in popular favor, and give a wider spread reputation to our bouse, and our best efforts wilt be put forth to accomplish this.
Oar premises have recently been enlarged, and we have now a business house of large dimensions, and as perfect in its arrangements as any house in the country, while at the same time there is a degree of elegance and beauty throughout, surpassed by none devoted to the same business. Our stock or goods we design to have, especially in the business season, in keeping with our house—large in amount, varied in character as the wants of the community and in what appertains to the tasteful and beautiful, such selections from the richest, the latest and moat fashionable goods in the eastern markets, as will commend themselves to the taste of those who seek for this class of goods, and render it difficult for them to vith-hold their pat ronage.
We offer our foods at as low a scale of prices as can be afforded by any house engaged in a legitimate and regular business and our prices will be found to be one of the strong inducements we present for patronage.
We solicit attention to the following brief statement of our principles upon which our business is conducted FIRST—A system of uniform prices, (the one price system, and nosxorbitant or unreasonable price for any article in the house. SacOM»-Nodeceptivestateineiitsinleulionally made, either by the proprietors or salesmen iu relatiou to our goods. Tman—No urging of customers to purchas what does not please them. FOURTH—All customers and visitors of the house to be treated with gentlemauly civiliU, and earneal efforts made to render the ealla of all agreeable to them and promotive of their interests.
