The Polygamy of the Mormon**-3fo#« Revelations. We published recently, for the information of the incredulous an official confession or mormon polygamy, from Orson Prstt, a liigh priest of the Mormons, and commissioned by the Prophet Brighom Young, as the missionary apostle of the Latter Day faints, for the conversion of the heathen at the city of Washington, From the Seer, a periodical published by Cider Pratt, in the

aid city, wo Imvo some addtiional light thrown on the aatne suhj^et. II-jsays, that 'Brigham Young just now, is the ortlj man on earth who holds the key* to miniver the cereinonv or marriage for time and for all eternity.' fie then proceeds to state, that iioiwithstanding a manwife may be hostile to the to the introduction of another into the family, she must show good reasons for it to the Prophet, or her complaints will not pass muster. Of the various wives and children which may constitute a Mormon family, Elder Pratt says •There is no particular rule as regard* the retittenoe of the different branches of a faihily. It is very frequently the case that they all reside in the same dwelling, and take hold unitedly and with the greatest cheerfulness, of the different branches of household or domestio business, eating at the same table, and kiudly looking after eaoh other's welfare while the greatest ieace and harmony prevail year after year. Their children play and associate together wjij the greatest affection, as brothers and sisters while each mother apparently nunjfe»ts as much kindness and tendor regard for the children of the others as for har own.'

Beautiful! beautiful! Nothing like it, even in the mysteries of Socialism:— •And morning and evening, when the husbaud calls together his family to worship the Lord, and call upon his name, they all bow tha knee, and with the greatest union of feeling, offer their devotion to the Moat High..'

What a delightful itata of things, to be aure! A man with seven wives, and eaoh the mother of a half a dosen children, all thus harmonizing* to the number of fifty, around the husband or father of the whole familv under the same roof. But it appears, aooruing to Elder Pratt, that— •It is sometimes the oase that the husband provides for his wivea separate habitations, as Jacob did for his four wives, eaoh of whom had a separata tenu (Sea Genesis, 31 33.) Where all the wivee are equally faithful, the husband generally endeavors to treat them all without partiality.

How romaotiol How patriarohall How interesting and instructive, these plain and honest confessions of the marriage covenant of the Saints at the Salt Lake.

But suppose a oaae. A saint has seven wives, eaoh living io a difleren tbouse-— He 'treats them all without partiality.'— Bui can any one of them answer how it ia thus possible for him to be at home more than one night in the week! la not thia also a mystery!

Such are the abominations of Mormonlam, through the confession of their delegated apoatie to Washington. We trust that the government will not much longer tolerate tneae things. The* are open defianoe ol the laws and social institutions of the whole country—they are an an outrage up on common deoenOY—a monstrous outrage upon woman's rights to a husband of her own—and ought to be abolished before they lead to the disasters of a civil war.— We trust that Gen. Pierce will not overlook the Mormon*. They must oonform to the )aws, II is time they were taken in band.

A Good Idea.

The Board of County Commissioners contemplate building (probably next summer) an addition to the Town Hall, or rather a new Town Hall, for the accommodation of our County and Toifn ofBoee, &o. Such a building is much needed, as the present offices ere neither convenient nor sufficiently commodious. We hope they will erect a building whioh will be an ornament to the square.

Gen. Pierce left Concord yesterday after, noon accompanied by Sydney Webster, and numerous friends. There waa no public demontratioo on the occasion. He remained in Boston last night, and will be in this ctty to-night. He hsa indefinitely and unchangeably formed his Cabinet and none but those selected know who compose it an probably it will not be made public until the 4th of March.

Not a week passes but we meet with accounts of insanity produced by the delusion of spirit rappings. The following we find in the Memphis Eagle and Enquirer of Jan. 26th:

Hamilton, and Dayton railroad

ctnnati, company, related to the consequences of a mishap, which sometimes overtakes travelers—the loss of a ticket.

The plaintiff having lost his ticket, an4 being called upon to produce it. was ejected from the car at night, and compelled to walk over a mile for shelter. The weather being cold, he froze his feet, and brought an action to recover damages for th* alleged injury.

The Judge charged the jury, that the tikeket was merely evidonce of a party's having paid for the privilege of riding in the oars and that if the ticket were lost, it was competent for him to^ jubsutute other evidence in its place.

In regard to the suggestion, that a lost ticket might be found and used by one who had not paid for it, the Court remarked that a company need not expose themselves to any such imposition as this. It is not necessary that the tickets should be issued in such a manner that they would be good in the hauds of a stranger, who may happen to haye obtained po$session of it.

A verdict was rendered for the plaintiff in the sum of 8500.

A Spoiled Nut.

Enos K. Nutt, the editor of the Wabash Commercial published at Williamsport, says "We have concluded to contribute no more to the success of party organization than any other individual hereafter. It was a most desperate physio for us to vote for some of the late whig nominees in this county."

The lady of ex-president Tyler, has written a long, able and eloquent letter to the Duches of Sutherland, Bedford, and Argyle, the Countess of D?rby, Viscountess Palmerston, and other English ladies, who got into a perspiration from reading 'Uncle Tom's Cabin.'
