LATEST IMPROVEMENT.
Noye's Improved Portable Grist Mill. rpiIE subscriber hns completed and tested his Improved I Portable Grist Mill, for which he has applied for Letters Putent. He is now prepared to furrdsh to order a superior mill for grinding wheat and Coarsk Grains. The mode of attaching the Runner Stone to the Spindle, togeth er with the improved feeding attachment, secures a high motion to the stone, with perfect safety even to a THOUSAND REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE. Thesubscriber claims that he has invented aud attached to this Mill valuable improvements, which make it superior to all others now in use. And further he has no hesitation in guarantying it to griud wheat or coarse grains as rapidly, and at the same time doing as good work, with less loss of fowkr by raiCTiON, than any other Portable Mill now in operation. These Mills are of the best quality of French Burr Stones, and are from 20 to 24, 30, 32, and 36 inches in diameter. They are placed in a substantial frame or hnsk and are driven by a belt with steam, water, or horsepower, and are warranted to perform perfectly in every particular. JOHN T. NO YE.

THESouth"
above is a wood cut of a double geared "Qeen of the Corn Mill. We manufacture a Cob Breaker of great strength and durability, and ease of operation.
We place this useful contrivance on all Sizes of Mills, by which means we couvert a Corn Mill iuto a Stock Feed Mill but a few minutes work lo put it on, or to take it off. \Vre manufacture portable Mills, single and double geared (best quality of French burrs) to grind Wheat, Corn and Stock Feeds, calculated for steam, water or horse power. These Mills have been run by steam and horsepower iu competition against the other make of Mills of our city, at onr State Fairs, and have never failed lo carry off the first premium—ou one occasion was awarded a beautiful silvei medal. Our Mills, also took two ftrct premiums, as the best Mills, at two annual Fairs of our Mechanic's Institute.
ALSO—Portable Saw Mills, to be run by steam, water or horsepower. This Mill was exhibited in operatiou by horse power, at the Ohio State Fair, in 1850, when it was awarded a premium and a spleudid silver medal.
ALSO—Different kinds of portable horse powers, and steam Engines. All our articles, for ease of operatiou, simplicity, usefulness, anddurabllity, are surpassed by uone now in use.
All our articles are warranted as represented-7—or no sale—at our cost of transportation and the money refunded. For a full description and testimonials of merit and usefulness we refer those interested to our pamphlet, to be had at our factory, where we tuke pleasure to explaiu each article. ISAAC STRAUB &. CO.
Note.—Mr. Kimball, the partner of J. H. Burrows, while exhibiting a 15urows Mill nt our State Fair, lustful), was boisterous about his Mill, and courageously entered into a verbal agreement with me to grind corn thus: whoever grinds the most, regarding quality, and quantity, was to be the qwner of both mills, at each uud every trial.
FIRST TRIAL
Straub to run an 18 inch Mill Burrows &. Co. lo run 20 inch Mill. SECOND TRIAL. Straub to run a 22 inch Mill: Burrows &. Co. to run a 24 inch Mill.
THIRD TRIAL
Straub to run a 26 inch Mill Burrows &. Co. to run a 30 inch Mill. When the pinch came, that boisterous courage stepped out.
To the above I now append a challenge lo grind cob feed out of whole ears of corn. I will run my 1H inch
breaker attachment,
"Queen of tke South,"
the Ohio Slate Fuir, last fall, against
quality
with a cob-
the same article thnt took the premium at
a 24 inch Burrows Mill
and Wm. Stewart's Ohio und Kentucky Stock Feed Mills, both lobe run at once and if you are apprehensive of a risky business, you have my entire approbation to run Mr. Pomeroy's Corn Crusher us an auxiliary. Should my single article fail to grind equal in quality and quantity to the combined productions of the two or three nulls just as you please then you can draw a few hundred dollars as stakes put up.
Come boys, don't bo cowardly—there is uothing like walking strait into the merits of a thing. Oct. d, 1852-2m3 ISAAC STRAUB.
THE COST OF GOING TO HOUSEKEEPING T"^HE subscriber having determined to put his prices at .L the lowest remunerative point in view of increasing his sales, has no hesitation in showing his list of prices to his customers, assuring them (which is almost needless,) that for the
of article preseuted, the price
is marked down to the lowest possible rate. Other articles may aud doubtless will be offered for leas price, bearing the same shape aud name, but uuless Willi a view of making up the difference, the article caunot be of the same quality. Having my line of importation and manufacture now fully complete, no olher establishment can honestly undersell me. As my profits will necessarily bo small, I cannot afford to run any risk whatever in credits, therefore the cash will be expected on the delivery of the goods.
I11 specifying my prices so closely, I am determined to hold to my usual rule of selling only articles of the best quality.
An inferior class of goods would look cheaper on paper, but a year's use would show the difference in favor of tho best.
A rule adopted in this Establishment four years since will be strictly adhered to-thai of naming the lowest price, and strictly adhering to that price. I refer to list lo show what can be dono towards house keeping for $30.
The following list of articles, of good quality, which are all requsite in going to housekeeping may be had for thirty dollars, or.any part at proportionate rates: 1 Kitchen Shovel and Tongs,,2 Painted Pails,'
1 Tinned Iron Saucepan, 1 Flour Scoop, 1 Sugar Scoop, 1 Barrel Cover, 1 Half Barrel Cover, 1 Pepper and Flour Dredge, 3 Tin. Pie Plates, 1 Tia Wash-Basin,
