The Senate re* fused to call for proceedings in the case of sailors pot to death in the Somen, and in ease of the Court Martial on the private soldiers tried at Portsmouth and who were sentenced too most aqheard of pun ishments.
House.—Mr. Diefiey was excused from serrjng on Committee of Sections. Mr. Phelps introduced a bill granting a right of way and public lands to Missouri for a railroad from St- Louis to the western line of that State referred to tbe Committee on Public Lands
Dir. Disney reported bill regulating tbe tolls on *be Louisville and Portland canal, and for pur ^•chasing the shares of individual stockholders and making the navigation free—referred to the Com mittee on Road* and Canals.
The House then went into Committee of the "Whole onthe President's message, when Mr. Hons ton offered a series of resolutions referring the va rious branches of the message to appropriate com* onittees.

The trial of Caitenor Han way, for treason, being concerned in the resistance of the laws at Christiana, was concluded to-day.s IMr. Cooper, having finished his closing arguments about one o'clock, Mr. Pettier charged the jury at great length and tHey soon after retired.
