Tebre Haute is to hare, before long, a regular Parisian Can Can. The performers are to bo tastefully arrayed in pinch back ear 'rings and red shoes. The front seats are to be reserved for old gents who can't see "far at a dis- ,,, tance."

The LaFayette papers agree with th9 Gazette in their estimate of the merits, or rather demerits of the Rich-tags-Bernard Opera' Troupe. The peo'peleof LaFayette were victimized as were those of Terre Haute by the per(ormance.

One of the morning papers got the Byrnes,—Parish difficulty a little misled, coupling the natiae of Deputy John

The Tom Thumb Tronps.

From the Tasmania Time.", Hobart Town, June 18,1870. This talented Lilliputian troupe took their farewell of Hobart Town yester.day morning, with feelings we are assured of deep regrot. They departed from Mr. Hnrtam's Ship Inn, in their own conveyance, about nine o'clock in the morning, and their outgoing was witnessed by a larj assemblage ofy persons who desired to pay the little ladies and gentlemen tbeir last re spects. May their shadows never grow less, and may they'ever meet with the same succes, the same warm friendship, and the same kindly feel iincs which they met with here. W

iings which they only hope that in other countries they will be received in as warm and iriendly a manner as they have been here And we hope that tbe troupe will again pay a vis.it to Hobart Town, with whose citizens they have contracted a lasting friendship, and by whom they will not speedily be forgotten. We, in conclusion, wish them in the countries which they are about to visit, tbesarae success which they have enjoyed hore.

Arthur Chambers and Billy Edwards, the famous pugilists are in town, stopping at the Terre Haute House. They look about as little like the conventional pugilists as it i3 possible to look. Both are respectable, affable and gentlemanly iu their manners. It is a mooted question. as to which of the two is the better manphysically, but it" is safe to say that no light weight on this side of the Atlantic would stand a ghost jf a show with either of them. Edwards has been, and for all we know to the contrary, champion light weight of the country. The two are on a pleasure toar through the Wesf.

Kelly & Leon.

The largest audience of the season as" sembled at the Opera House last evening to witness the perlormance of the Kelly fc Leon troupe. The inimitable Leon is a host himself, his peculiar fitness for the characters ho assumes making him an artist of real merit. The song and dance men, Walters and Morton, are the best that have ever visited this city, and wero repeatedly encored by an appreciative audience, All counected with the show are gentlemen who understand their business, and taken altogether the company may be classed as the leading minstrel troupe traveling.—[Logansport Star.^

TIi« East End Coal King*. Lafayette Mallory, city coal contractor, sells his coal cheap from a number of reasons, all plausible and sensible. First, because he is engaged in other business at which he can make a living, and which furnishes#his rent free. Second, because he sells such large quantities of the blac.1 diamond. Third, because he has been in the business a long time, and is fully up to the wishes, and fourth, because he believes in small profits and quick sales. Either address him through the postoffice, or leave orders at the corner of 13th and the Vandalia railroad. Orders may also be left with Rive, near the corner ol Fourth and Ohio streets.
