Next week this celebrated lady and her hardly less celebrated company will occupy the Opera House with their presence for one night, and we doubt not the minds of our music loving citizens for months thereafter. They will give us ".the Rose of Tyrol."

Xrrom advance circulars issued by yhe company wo are enabled to give the following idea of this opera:

The Rose of Tyrol (niiuie by Julius Eichborg, and libretto by B. E. Woolf) is an opera of a romantic school. Its scenes are laid in a little Tyroleau village and while the music is of a light and pleasing character with cleve» transitions from grave to gay, the plot is verv amusing. Grittiy, "The Rose of Tyrol," is a pretty peasant girl with much good sense and faithful heart, who is on the way to Strasbourg, to visit a sister, supposed to be lately widowed, and to aid her return to her native village she is accompanied by a simple peasant named Eranz, her bethrothed. Franz has invested his last Horin in a lottery ticket, which he fond ly imagines! will bring him a speedy fortune. Thoy stop at an inn, where the opera opens with a sbirited chorus, '-The Harvest is O'er,"' followed by several charming airs sung by Grittiy. Berthelde, a peddlsr, arrives and spreads thfl intelligence that No. "66V is the lucky ticket ia the iotter, having drawn one hundred thousand florins. Franz is transported with joy.-asr he reads his ticket it bears the cabalistic figures, '60." Hia good fortune turns his silly head. He

not only ru9hes into extravagant ways by ordering a sumptuous entertainment at the inn, and buying all sorts of finery, but forgets the faithful Grittiy. Bertholde, thepeddler has became enamoured of the fair Grittiy, and improves Franz's aosence, to make lore to her, bnt his suit is rejected Believing the voting man to be •wealthy, the jiraspiDg inn-keeper,

The innkeeper daughter, Fanchette, is a rustic boiden and in no sense comparable with Gritt ly. and, although the suit 13 pressed with great vehemence by the innkeeperf his wife and daughter *ran?f declines the proffered honor of an alliance. Grittiy returns to the inn for her bundle, intending to pursue her journey alonf to Strasbourg. Franz endeavors to make peace with her, but she repels his advances, not forgetting his recent unkind treatment. The peddler is present, and obtaining a Klanceatthf lottorv ticket, finds the simple youth has mul the number up' side down and holds instead of "GG,' ticket No. "09." Fianz is in dispair' He has not only lost the coveted prize, but he has made a fool of himself, and what is still worse, forfeited Grittly's good opinion. Whilaho is bewailing bis ill fortune, Grittiy makes an important discovery. Bertholde is none other that the missing husband of her sister, given up as drowned. He has returned from Australia with a fortune, and in his good nature consents to pay even the unconsciouable bill presented by thescheming inn-keeker for Franz's dinner. Grittiy and Franz become friends again and the opera ends joyously.!

TxtK family of Wilson Naylor, Esq., received a dispatch last-night- that Jas. B. Naylor, the son of Mr. Naylor, was dead. He died at Canoa City, Colorado

James B. Naylor was one of the prom- bids. ising young men ot our city. He went west some three years ago to recover his health. His father and mother were not advised of his sei ious illness. The shock to them is terrible, not expecting snch sad news, Jimmy Naylor, as he was commonly called, had a •host of warm friends in this city who will be shocked to hear, of his- early death. His parents will receive the sympathy of the entire community in this, their sad affliction. The body will be brought home for burial. His brother-in-law, Mr. B. C{. Cox, left for Colorado last night to bring home the remains.

Sadden D?ath.

Mr. C. A. Harrington, formerly of this city, where he was engaged in the dry goods business under the firm name of Prince & Co., died of heart disease in Jessup, Iowa, on New Year's day. He was in the enjoyment of perfect health, to all appearances, at tour o'clock of that day. The grim messenger came between live and six, with no warning.—[Express.
