The American Flag,

To-morrow is the Centennial Anniversary of the adoption of the American flag. Oar citizens should prepare to rally round the old flag. We projjose a bumper.

The brick dwelling house on the corner of Sixth and Eagle streets, the property of Mr. John Abbott, and which was partially destroyed by fire recently, is receiving anew roof and being otherwise repaired.

The regular annual celebration at this church took place last evening. As usual the house was full ef rife and merriment. The principal entertain»ent consisted in a number of essays by the school pupils. The following was the programme whiqh was carried out. It is slightly shorter than ins originally intended, owing to the fact that some of those expected to participate were absent in Indianapolis: 1. Song. "Glory to God in the Highest," by the choir 2. Mr. Charles Zimmerman, of Tuscola, 111., has leased a store roosn in the Eagle block, on Main street, between Eighth and Ninth, where he proposes to establish a manufactory of shirts, pants and overalls of cbeap quality. He will employ about fifty women as seamstresses. Mr. Zimmerman has had several years experience in this business, and will, no doubt, make a success of it.
