"A Christmas Treat.
Mr. Yoorhees, with the assistance of Mr Anderson, is proving himself inliefatiguable in his endeavors to make his next production of Hamlet a wonderful success. We have already predicted another surprise on the part of Mr. Yoorhees' many friends, but we feel safe in saying that the performance which is to take place a week fxom to-day, at the Opera House, will equal in interest any thing that we aie to be favored with this winter.
Mr. Yoorhees, as is likewise Mr. Anderson, is, also, bestowing particular attention and care on the comedy of Everybody's 1 riend, which, as we have noticed, i3 to

They extend to thousands oi head and are the greatest pest of Texan life.^.One ranchtro, Wm. King, who owns thousands of acres and countless head of cattle, has four howitzsrs on his place and of the three hundred men be employs to guard bis cattle, all are armed and intrusted to shoot on sight any Mexican that comes within two miles of his place unless previously giving reasons and receiving permission. Every day or twojthe newspapers of Texas issue extras, stating that cartain bands of bandits have crossed over from Mexico, and warning the wealthy rancberos to guard more carefully their stock.
