The first consideration is for that robe of virgin white in which the maiden may appropriately make her vows of lifelasting love and obedience. It should be of heavy satin, a train three yards long, trimmed up the front with pnfls of illusion between innumerable satin ruffle? the puffings of illusion and the ri. lll?s of satin, running up and down the train about a quarter of a yard, with a deep scolloped ruffle of satin above. The •waist cut low, trimmed with puffings of illusion and point lace. The entire dress, waist and skirt, ornamented with sprays of orange blossoms. As we never grumble at the price at a funeral or marriage, we silently lay down our first S500.

Next we must consider her fivst reception dress. We must have it of rich pros grain silk, peach blow, the waist cut high and trimmed with point applique a deep applique flounce on the skirt, and a train two yards and three quarters long. For this we pay f60Q.

Our lovely young maiden must now have a walking suit of sage green, two shades to be used the lighter for the body of the dress, the dark for ruffling and'plaiting. The waist and overskirt are to be trimmed with black thread lace skirt made demi-train, with a ruffle at the bottom of box plaits, and a wide pointed ruffle above. For this elegant walking suit we may expect to give $300.

For her little trip to Washington, she must have a traveling dress of cashmere, made with postillion, overskirt and demitrain, trimmed with silk of the same color and for this we need expend only SS5. A morning wrapper of cashmere is necessary, trimmed down the front and around the bottom with silk. It costs only $50.

Our dainty pet always has within doors the air of summer about her. She is herself concentrated sunshine. Her life is all summer now, and she should look lovely in and must absolutely have a morning wrapper of Nainaook, made elaborately, with Valenciennes lace and puffings, at $100.

A bridal outfit for underclothing, consisting of one dozen night-dresses, two dozen ch?mises, two dozen pairs of drawers, one dozen corset covers, one dozen sacques, and one dozen skirts, made in sets. The most elaborate set would be made as follows Night-dres^, body of fine cambric, yoke back and front, and rich puffing of linen cambric down the front of the robe Valenciennes lace insertions and embroidery. This handsome set, each garment trimmed in the same way, is worth $250.

The second set, made a little plainer, we can get for $150, the third for $100, while the cheaper ones, made with insertions, come at $40.

Our beautiful bridal belle must also have for her actual comfort, half a dozen embroidered flannel skirts, that will cost from $8 to $25 apiece.

Such is an exact description of the •bridal outfit furnished in Broadway at Eleventh street byMcCreery and of the dozens of magnificent robes, made up except the fitting of the waist, which is baisted, which were exhibited at his opening a month ago, it is amazing that scarcely one remains unsold.

Add "to the above the handkerchiefs, hosiery, fans, gloves, etc., which we buy for our brilliant Isabella on the first floor of the store, and the bill easily amounts to three thousand dollars—sometimes four—although many ladies, even those who have plenty of money, are satisfied with what can be supplied for a thousand dollars.

Add to this also the unnumbered shoes and hats which must be purchased elsewhere, and we can estimate .the inevitable expense attendant upon onr marrying Isabella.

Brattleboro tells rather a flighty story of a well kept seciet. The story goes that a boy well back in 1811 i#ade a kite and attached a paper lantern to i', in which he put a candle, and arranged it so that when the candle had burned out it would explode some powder at the bottom of the lanlern. He kept the secret'entirely to himself, aud waited for a suitable night in which to raise his kite. The boy got his kite into the air without being discovered, for it was so dark that nothing but the colored lantern was visible. It went dancing about in the air wildly, attracting much notice, and was looked upon by ignorant people as some supernatural omen. The evil spirit, as many supposed it, went bobbing around for about twenty minutes aud then exploded, blowing the lantern to pieces. Next morning all was wonder aud excitement, and this lad, who had carefully taken in his kite and hidden it after the explosion without being found out, had his own fun out of the matter. The people of Brattleboro never had any explanation of lhe mystery until nearly sixtyyears afterward, when the boy, who had become quite su old gentleman, published the story in a Brattleboro newspaper.

AT a recent marriage in Gbic siro, the present business took a rather novel and very practical turn. The ceremony was performed in church, and an admittance fee was charged at the door, the proceeds being handed over to the new bride to begin housekeeping with.
