MALE COLLEGE been steadily progresainj.They are now nearly completed and will 1e opened for the reception of pnpUs on Weduesdy, the 8th of September next.
The site of die College, the boildbtgB, the arrangement? for study and comfort, and the Faculty deserve here a passing notice. Terre-Haute, the site of the College Is a beautiful and healthy city, accessible by railroad from all directions,and centra] to a numerous anil appreciating popedatioa. It is hjgB, as its Dame imports. From statistics it is clearly %hown that for several years past there have been* fewer deaths and less sickness here than at any western dty of eqtial population.
The buildings will be fitted np in the latest style and with all the modem improvements. They I will be warmed by steam, hghtei by gas, and far nlshed with warm and cold baths, and what is rare iy to be found in institutions ot learning—a Gritmasicm—where the body made healthy and symmetrical bv exercise may support and atswst the labors of the mii.d.
A prominent feature of the College, is the provision raade for the protection of the ktaltk of pupil*. The rooms are tpttciotu and vteU nrsttiliated, there being a beautiful furnished parlor with separate sleeping apartments for each two yonng ladies.
The grounds are ample, comjaising 8!^ acres, in a pleasant part of the city, about one-tbitd ot which is a native forest grove, with winding ttxUkt and arbort, forming a most delightful promenade for pupilf—all the grounds will tt« tastefully ornamented.
