The Theatre Reopened. Wheu Mr. V'arney opened his theatre here, he «m disappointed in his efforts to obtain a foil company, but he can assure the admirers of the drama that he has now foil company, and will present to-night, the much admired classic FIVE ACT play of Damon and Pythias, with characters •superior to any that have ever appeared before an audience in Terre-FIaote. Mr. Coggswell, Dunn, Kelly, Brennan and Dickinson, (the latter of whom is one of 1 lie best com medians now in the west,) have arrived, and will make their first appearance to-aight.
The entertainment for this evening will conclude with the laoghable farce of the Ilaanted House-Mr. Dickinson appearing as Diggory.
To-morrow night Mr. Mulhollsnd will appear as OTHELLO, in 8h»ke*pcar's relebrr ted tragedy 01 Othello, the Moor of Venice.
We think the company now employed will give better sati»faction thnn any her'etyfore—st least many of them have good reputations as actors, and we see no reason why they can't play as well here as elsewhere.
Fight at the Market Hotxso. On yesterday morning, at the Market House, a fight occurrel, which was oh used
ly the following circumstances: A countryman had butter for sale, and sold what
ho said was two pounds, but the purchaser look it to the scales and it weighed on
ly one pound ntnl thieo quarters, 'Ihe gentletuau informed the countryman of
the fact, which Boomed to rtVsbira considerably, and some harsh words ennned. Mr
II. told him ha only wanted his rights. and those he would have. But nothing
neemed to satisfy the countryman but a fight—and fight he would or bust—the latter of which ho don*, as from appearances,
both of his eyes were knocked into one—' he decidedly got the worst part of the bargain. It is supposed his eyes were
knocked so idoope»" that hereafter lie
will be able to sell two pouuds of butter, without it falling short. Wo don't adtuiro Huch war of settling difficulties, but we
should think it would teach some people
to t'eal fairly when they have anything to di«po»'« of at our market. The gentleman
who purchased the butter is one of onr quiet and poaceablo citizens, and would
not hate engaged in such an aff.urhad it not have been forced upon him.

JSTBr FRED J.Drake—THE Frr.EUEx— They know no rich, no poor, none but those who need their assistance.
We clip the above from a series of toasts offered at a Firemen's celebration in Fort Wayne, a few days ago. Perhaps this is the onh instance where there i» no distinction made between the rich and the poor. This simple fact shonld cause a nnited, protection to fire companies.
To make the above toast complete in sentiment, we add the following beautiful lines from the pen of the, immortal Plato: "Go March the to rob* where monarchs rest— Their riches and their honors art no more! The rich, the poor, the base, the brare, la dust without distinction liei"
