The Lady VtaUora of "Terre-Haot* Di•iaion No. 94 Son* uf Temperance,'* are reqnaatad (o meet «t the divtaion room on Thormdwy afternoon at 3 o'clock. A fofl attendance ii deuim^ 5 J. G. 8TEPHEN80N, Patriarch.
MsfCoh Tbotnpaon'a speech last night was largely attended by men of all parties.. Tim speech was a severe rebuke to the administration party, and showed plainly that'the present administration was bat following in the old beaten track of their leader, James Buchanan.
The democrats held a camp-meeting at the Market space, and the chief monrner* were the office-seekers. Converts were scarce, and the preaching dry.
JtW Let every man keep cool, to-day. We do not wish to hear of any disturbance. Let Democracy be laid peaceably into the grave dog for them by James Buchanan.
BUCACHCD TALLOW.—Mr. B. M. Harrison, a chandler and soap manufacturer of tla* city, has an art for tlie rendering and bleaching of tallow, a barrel of which he had on exhibition al the State Fair, which is well worthy the attention of chandlers and tallow Tenderers generally. By his method rough tallow is rendered in six hour*, bleached in two hour*, and at a Ions of not exceeding twenty per cent, in both rendering and bleaching. The »p"rimrn of Ull»w on exhibition was clear, whiti*, hard and *w«*ut, qualifiea which will commend themselves to both inahnfacf«r«»ra and oouanroar*. By the nao of Mr. Harrison's method, rough tallow can be kept until enongh is collected for large rendering*, preventing the necessity of daily renderings in warm weather. It certainly is a great improvement over the old way of rendering, and is an nrt which alionld he in the poaacssion of all who melt tallow.-—-State Sentinel.
Grand Firemen's Parade and Tournament.
The following is the result of the trial of the several machines as reported by the Committee, Messrs. O. \Y. Buchanan, R. L« Locker and Wm. 0. Sherwood:
Northern Liberty, Tcrre-llanto, 190
feet six inches.
Independent Relief, No. 1, Indianapolis, 204 six iuohe*. Invincible, No. 8, Indianapolis, 213 feet 10 inches.
Marion, No. lt Indianapolis, 202 feat 2 inches. The Northern Liberty and the Relief Companies then threw against the Invincible Company for the horna. The Marion Company did not com pete, bnt merely took a trial throw. Tho Invineibles came off conquerors. They gallantly and chivalrously bear the well-earned horns.— Sentinel* Oct.

It wai with pride and gratification that the public witnessed thoir reception by our firemen. There were, too, delegations fVom other compa iiios throughout ihi State.
The procennion, every company in the city being on hand with their machine.*, moved through the principal streets, the Oreys' and the Guards' Band discouising the most brilliant air* all the while. The ground of trial, south of the Union Depot being reached, each engine, manned wol, was put in position. The whole department of this city was, previous to the trinl of tlio machines, passed under review of the Chief Fire Engineer, Mr. Davis.
