*J The Burning of the Austria. For several day*, rumors have bees a* float of a burning steamer having been seen at sea about half way between New York and Liverpool, and the most painful anx'ety has been felt as to what vessel it could be. The telegraph yesterday solved the terrible mystery and furnished the pa: tit trars of the most awful catastrophe that had occurred npon the ocean for years. The ill-fated vessel was the steamer Austria, bound from Havre to New Yoik. Oat of six hundred Bonis that were aboard, only seventy-six were saved ~r over five hundred human beings suffered at "one fell swoip" into the eternal world 1 Nearly all the passengers were Germans, several of tbem citizens of this county retaining from abroad. We shall probably liave^furllier particulars to-mor-row.—Lafayette
