Another tourist stated that, as longer twenty-fivo years a^o, when he paid the same cottage a visit, the curious hunteo of relics had begun to pick pieces from that mahtlepiece, which was'worm eaten and nearly rotten, and the walls of the room and the veiy ceiling wero covered with the signatures Were now and then whitewashed to give room for the signatures of other worshippers of the great poet In the room, at the timt this tourist waa there, was a tablo made of mulberry, which ira* for sale, but the woman who had charge ofthe place would not vouch that it was made of the tree the poet sat under ia his own garden. "The only thing," says the writer, "that we saw at the Tittle town at Avon, that at all touched us, was the grave of Shakspeare, in the pretty little chnrch of the place of his nativity.
