*3 We kwn that trestle work will be put in portion of the bottom grade, so as to let the water pass through. We are of the opinion that this will be a bad more, no the late high waters havs convinced us that the builders of that road wore wise in not putting in culverts or trestles. The grade should bo made about two fcci higher and th«n ho floods of a century will hare no bearing upon it, whereas, if trestles wore put up, thoro would bo a continual tiouble in repairing, and in all probability rebuilding, as they are liablo to be washed away, and there is great difficulty in so fixing the abutments at the ends of the trestle work so as to prevent the washjug out of the timbers, or even stone.—
But, due consideration will bo giren to this matter, and no doubt the better mode will be*dopted. 1

Eerro* o» UKIOS:—Will luaac of the friends of our State have the courage and manliness to come out and make a concise and plain statement of facts, relative to the Wabash dr Erie Canal How, and by whom is it held at this time And if it belongs, by transfer, to a certain set of Bondholders, are we,
tkt people of Indiana,
to be compelled to take it hack sod shoulder all the responsibilities of that dilapidated concern as it is.
It is believed, and generally understood that there is a trade uow being mads to that efibct,
We want to kuow by whom and in what way this trade is to be accomplished and,
