Shooting Affray.

A cottple of Germans nniued Stielutc and Diet?, fcc&trne engage I in a quarrel on Tlinraday night, at the Fanners' Hotel, in hi* city, which result*! in the latter'* re reiving a severe and dangerous tvonnd from a revolver in the ban.Is of Stielster J'ho difficulty, according to onr iitf'jrmattou, arose throngh a law suit, in pursu «nce of which a widow Udy, who was «ister-in-law to both parties, and wa? living with Slu'ltftcr, iiiaiioa tluim ml of I)ietz of woino property in dispute. Dietz becanm very angry, nttii in the evening went to the hotiso of Stiolaior, and while there jjot into the quarrel which resulted agn'iovo It is said that Diet/, first drew a revolvv upon which Sticlster also drew one and iircd, the ball striking Pietz in the hip nnd lo lgiug. Dieiz then fired four times in Riiecos.'sion withou' any effect, except the shovtiug of a dog that wai in the room, aud Siielxtor fired several times afterwards, without doing any further dun:age. ii« was arrested that night and gave bail in the stun of one thousand dollars for his appearance yesterday morning, at which time the examination was eoiitiuuovl, with recognisance iu the same Amount, till noxt Tuesday morning. The charge is one of assault aud battery wiih intent to tuurdcr.

At last accounts, Diet*, whoso wound is uot a* dangoroux as was first anticipated, was iu a fair way of recovering. The Lall was extracted by a surgeon, on yesterday morning.

The Greatest Natural Cariosity cf the Ajgs. While draining a spring pond some 7 miles South-oast of Torre-Ilante, a few days ago, Mr, J. M. H'Coskey discovered two natural curiosities which are no known in history. They resc ruble an Eel in color ami form, with the exception of the peculiar formation around tho head.-— Oa each side of the head are a I'unch of llowcrs shaped like Elk horns, each spangie or branch of the horns are covered with miuute fibres which look beautiful wh«a the animal is floating in water. They have two legs near the head and the feet are formed almost like the human hand, with the exception of the thumb, and oa each finger is a small black claw like a briar, 'lite female is fourteen inches long and the male a little over seven. Thcjr have a very omali blue eye, not much larger than the hoad of a pin. They frequently rice to the top of the water and sock air like the tur tie. These animals area curiosity and no mistake, and as Goldsmith knew nothing of their kind, they are the more worthy of jkhd attention of naturalist*. And being found in a small spring pond unconnected with a branch or river, makes their locality uncertain. Altogether they area mysterious animal.

Mr. McCo&ky will exhibit them in this City on Monday ani Tuesday next, time and place will 1« made knowK through hand bill*. As these animal* are truly a production of Vigo county, oar ciiixcm *hraJd turn out and sec the*.
