everything passed off at this establishment in fine style on last Saturday night. The great Drama of "LaTour Do Nesle," was well presented, and the popular burlesqne of the "Lady of the Lions" was rendered more interesting than ever by the happy hit of Mr. J. F. Lytton as Clod and Mr. Chaplin's inimitable acting as the Jair Polly Anno.

To-night is the last performance of the season, on which occasion a Grand Fancy Dress and Civic Ball will bo given in connection with the performance of the splendid Farce of the "Omnibus."

Tho ball no doubt will be a fine affair, as wo learn that a great many fancy-dress-es have been engaged for the occasion.

lO" Tho new frame house, sitoivtctJ near the canal, between Main and Ohio streita, belonging to Frederic Fry, wan consumed by flre about 9o'clk. on Statnr lay night last. Tho building was not yet completed, and no fire had been used in it for eercrnl day*. Thi» in evidence enough to convince ftnr one that the firing aa done by an incendiary. Mr. Fry's loss cannot bo leas than $1,000, which falls heavy upon him, as it waa his net earnings of several years hard labor. He la one of our honest and hard working bakers, and deserves abetter fate for hi* untiring energy.

The fire companies were promptly ou the ground but could not save tho house.

I4T For tho best Oyntors in tho city, go toT. M. DoO-jhfy's saloon. You can get them by tho can, half can, or dished tip la mode.

JMT Tho Street Commissioner has commenced repairing tho Stroctfl. Wo sec that the first work of tho season is now boing don# on Second street.

Good for Mr. Milns, ho is all right when vested with tho proper authority.

jCW Potatoes are selling on tho streets at from 23 to 40 conts per bushel.

A suit 1ms lately been instituted to recover a considerable portion of the lands of th»» Holland Company, tho authority of one of its agents to dispose of them being disputed. The prosecution is conducted nominally in behalf of two children, residing, wo believo, in England, hot we understand that among other prominent parlies, the Dank ol Kngland is interested in the matter. A gentleman of Buffalo is the nominal defendant. Ablo counsel are engaged on both bides.
