A committee of the city government have consented to sell the south corner of be Park for $250,000 for a post office site. The committee reported to the Board of Aldermen last night, and the subject will this evening be finally acted upon.

It is intended that when the Lecompton constitution comes in to take it np by the friends of the administration as a party measnre, and as a formal assertion of the Democratic principle of popular sovereignty.
The constitution will be passed with a proviso that it shall be presented to the people of Kansas for final acceptance and ratification. An enabling act will incorporated in the new bill as an alternative, in case the Loco mpton constitution is rejcctei by the people of Kansas.
