We happened in there yesterday, and were much pleased with its appcrAnce. The stage has been erected—though it is not yet completed—md a number of the scenes have been hung. Many of onr citizens will experience an agreeable surprise when this place of amnsemcnt opens.
Firo.—The alarm of fire on yesterday, was occasioned by the house oco upiod by Mr. M. Soule, taking fire

The fire companies were promptly on hand, and *s the firo had not »made much progress it was not fonnd necessary to work but ono engine. The No. 2— Wing nearest to the place—was ou the grounds first, and promptly put oat the fire. About one half of our fires are occasioned by some defect* in flues,

Whether he was stolen, and escapcd frtm the premises of the thief afterwards, or was turned loose ailer being stripped of tho sAddlejuid, bri»Ue» it# as yet, unknown.
