MW The Pout Master General, through the finance borean of his department, on Tuesday, rota rood to foreign countries the following dead letters, under existing treaty stipulations: To the General Post Office of England, 10,849 to Canada, 8,450 to Bromcn, 2,270 to Prussia, 6,180 Vrance, 590 Now Brunswick, 534 und to Nova Scotia, 516—total 88,389. This Tast amount of corrcsponidonce was received from the countries of the Old World and mailed to the various points of destination, where •11 the facilities of delivery wore extended on behalf of the persons superscribed, each letter in addition being duly advertised. But all having failed to socuro the object of the writers in far-off-land*, tke letters are returned to the General Post Office of the United States for transmission, which they now promptly get.
