JtST" Our report of the ITogue ease being fuller than anticipated, lias necessarily crowded out tire evidence in the McGaira ease tip to last night, bnt a full report of that case will be given to-morrow.
&SF Yesterday was very coU, almost cold enough for snow. If such weather contiuucs two or three days longer wo may expect h«avy frosts.
A heavy rain full late in the evening which rather increases tbo prospocts of getting front sooner than wo want it.
jfctT Sorno one writing from Tcrreir«ute to tho Coles Connty Ledger, take* occasion to render himself notorious in misrepresenting the morality of onr city, in tho following language: "Torre-IInnto is literally flowed with beer and bad liquor. The hundred groggories of the town are in full blast, cach nightly besot with its squad of topers, whp make darkness hideous with dissipation and profanity."
We have but little doubt of this writer's ability to judge of whiskey, and being a good judge of that article is totally unfit to preach upon morals. Tho truth is, our city is pretty well filled with travelling loafers, and these are the material that "render the night Jiideouj with drunkeness and profanity," and, perhaps, tho writer of the letter in the Ledger, made one of a crowd who exercised his lungs iu paswing arouiid from "groccry to groccri" tanting of tlie "bad beer and liquor," while he was here, or ho would not have known so much about these tilings.
Gov. Wiuotrr'N OPIKIOX or THR DHSTINVOF ins I'ARTV, AND THK CJIAHA('TKtl OK IT.-! LtCAORUS I.V I.VWANA. Shortly after Governor Wright received tho appointment of Minister to r.crlin, and before ho had formally accepted it, while travelling upon one of tho raiboads of our State, ho fell iti company with a venerable minister of his acquaintance, who had boon present when ha made his anti-bank speech, a short time boforo, in Indianapolis. Tin* conversation very naturally turned upou the subject of his recent speech, and the hostility of the Blight faction to the Governor,, when his Rev. friend remarked: "Governor, they will try to buy you off and if a small ofltco will nut effect tho object, they will offer a larger one, and I am not certain bnt what tliey have now made the bid that will take yon. But should yon refuse tho offer, and fight the battle through, you will certainly make yourself the sirong^t man of your party in the State."'
To which tho Governor replied: "Father 11 I am iu difficulty, and hardly know what to do I am poor I am unwilling to return to the practice of law after having been so long out of it. I have no other resource but to return to my little farm in Parka county, and thisldon't wish to do. As for making myself the strong man of my party in thiV State lam ctmvinmi that the party with which have been acting in this State must go down»- Th« peofde mil never sustain a *party led by a sst of as corrupt mm as art ntne at th* head the Democratic part# in Indiana,"
Father H——— remarked: "\£c« Governor* and the roost corruptfluao among thorn you helped to jdacS in the Governor's seat "I know I did/' the Governor replied, "but if God will forgive mo I will never do «o again,"
Lot all good mou pray that ^5s great sin may be forgiven.

An* AttnoR, Nov. 5, 1856
TROF. O. J. WOOD—Dear Sir: I have heard much said of the wonderful effects of your Hair Restorative, but having been so oflen cheated by qunckery and quack nostrums, hair dyes, 5ic., I was disposed to place your Restorative in the same catagory with die thousand and one londly trumpeted quack remedies, until I met you In Lawrence county some months since, when you gnve mC such assurance as induced the trial of your 1? oMoratircin my faml ly—first by my good wi4l whojic hair had become very thin and entirely white, and bo fore exhausting one of your large bottles, her hair was restored nearly to its original beautiful brown color, and had thlekcned and become beautiful and glossy upon, and entirely over the haad she continues to use it, not simply because of its beautifying effects upon the hair, bnt because of ito healthful influence npon tho heads nd mind. Others of my family and friends are using your Restorative, with the happiest effects therefore, my skepticism and doubts in reference to Us character and value are entirely removed »nd I can and do most cordially and confidentially rccommcnd Its use by all who would have their hair restored from white or pfny (by reiwm of sidktioss or age,) to original color and beauty, and by all yonng persons Who would hare their hair beautiful and glossy.
Very truly and mtefollv vonrs, SOLOMON MANN.
Fanssn Woot: It was along time after 1 saw you at Blissfteld before I got the bottle of Restorative for which you gave me an order Upon your agent in Pctroit, and when I got It we concluded to try it on Mr. Mann's hair, as the sorest test of Its power. It has done all that yoa assured me it would do) and others of my family and friends, having witnessed its effects, are now using and recommending its ise to others as entitled to the highest consideration you claim for it
Again, very respectfully sad truly, voors. iu?! SOLOMOtf MANN.
