to "MAKB PAST THK EMEANCi. OfTO," to "olietract." That is what the Sunday law means. I* means to MAKK FAST-to lock up, and the Indianapolis authorities so interpret the law in closing saloons on Sunday and after eleven o'clock at night. That is what the King ordinance requires— lock the doors. They would be a pretty lot of fools who would undertake to regulate the lujuor interest by a mera law to only close tbo 4^« without locking especially When a barkeeper w$8 known to be inside and a thirty company put side. There would be no regulation about it. Such legislation wopld be mere mockery, a sham and a fraud.
The King ordinance is in perfect hai mony and consistant with the Sunday law. The actio# of the Shelbyville council is also in line with thfs King or dinance and the Sunday law, as shown by TH* NEWS yesterday and previously Under it the saloons were not only closed and locked up on Sunday, but all screens were removed so that the bar could be plainly seen.
The can be but one opinion of the course of the Express, a&d that is, it is opposed to the enforcement not oo)y of the King ordinance, at which it snetw so frequently, but also of the Sunday law, or any law regulating, the liquor business. Ia fact its course js construed into a license to violate the law rather than to enforce it.

He does not Mem to be particularly pot out regarding the possible collapse of the American Association. He wys he proposes to retain his controling interest in the Cincinnati club and that if his claims are to go into court, he*will give his opponents all the litigation they ana a good deal more than they Bar® any desire for. The American Association, he says, will go straight ahead attending to its own business and paying no attention to any ope ehes. In Boston and Philadelphia, he says, the League Is unpopular, while the Association has the support and sympathy of the lovers of base bill. Johnson will prob ably, accompany the committee appointed to examine President Thnrman American Association papers and books.
