FROM the Indianapolis Sentinel of this morning, we learn that "Goorge Morris has resigned the general agency of the Indianapolis A St. Louis road, and accepted the Assistant Superin tendency of the Missouri Pacific. Richard Orloff succeeds to the position vacated by Morris."

THE Cincinnati Enquirer's special -correspondent from Indianapolis is our authority for stating thaJ^ Hollpway and Morton "are engineering a Mil through Congress to have an extension built to the postoffiee in that city, at an expense of not more than $100,00d." This extension would require more liveried bellboys and hopper clerks for that institution, which would give the present incumbent a chance to "assist" his poor relatives not yet provided for.

NEW AND ELEGANT.—Jimmy Ferry, as he is familiarly called, is the oldest* and a very popular conductor on the E, & C. Railroad, and the company giVes him almost anything he asks for. All who know "Jimmy" are aware that his vanity in the way of dress and massive watch chains will never kill him, but he has a great pride in a nice train of cars^ and he is now conductor of the ^iic«sf train running to this eity. The cars were manufactured at the shops of the com* pany at Evansville, and are provided with all the late improvements, such as the Martin platform and Westinghouse air brake, and "Jimmy" stands back and gazes at them with as much real pride as a pother »t ber fis»t bfrby.'

The mystery attending the death of Bensingelptvbose body was discovered in^the woods on the Bloomington j^ad but a few miles from this city yesterday, is yet an unisolved problem. Doctors Gertsmeyeti, Stephenson and {Others on last evening held a post-mortem examination on the remains of deceased, further developments were aVthan we stkted 6n yesterdaV. Coroner Gertsmeyer summoned a jury wblob ^rendered a verdict to the effect, tfiftt aeceased calne tohisdeatli by & pistol shot through the brain at the hands of soine .party or parties to them, unknown. There were a few facts arrived at on the investigation which we did leawv^an.yesterday* ««»_.

It appears that deceased was, previous to Thursday last, in the employ of Mftitiiel LamV, the butcher, was 45 years3 of age, and when he left had in /his possession, to Mr. Lamb's certain knowledge a silver watch, though he knew nothing of hi£$ haxing any considerable aiitOUnt of money. Wheu found, after death ha^ ensued, he had the appearance of having been dead several daysn ^When discovered by the boys, his position on the log was sneh as to contradict the idea that

his death resulted from his ow*n hand. His peatreff iftMfrfayfaterie^ la the WtVj 181 Mttin street, lief that he faadl been mordered and

placed in the place and ,posit|oi| he was foumPm 4hlfi dtsSdhrered By the party or parties who did the terrible deed From all the circumstances of the case there can certainly be but little doubt that deceased was most brutally murdered tyr sortfe person or persons, who knew of his possessing th§ watch a,nd presumed that he had money. There are scondrels in this city, we have no doubt, who would readily and cheerfully murder a man for a dollar^ ^ith which' to buy liquor, did tb^y not fear detection. The murderw of Bensinger may never be knowA and brought to justice, and may even sow be e^^Mifi« tJ^ city, or JtwldJ^, the streets, while the mystery attending the death of* the unfortunate man will doubtless soon be forgotten by the transaction of new bloody deeds, jand by the hand %^d^l lH4 (ibe Under ebrisfderation. Some, time in the future a death-' bed revelation of one hardened in crime may lift the vail that surrounds this mystety. Who faiows? ''4
