TIIK city was visited with quite a severe hail storm yesterday morning during which a horse attached to a buggy in froutof the Christian church became frightened and capsi/.ed the vehicle, but fortunately did no damage.
ROMANTIC.—One of the young belles of the city was observed riding up Ohio street, behind a gentleman on the same horse, Saturday afternoon. This is supposed to inaugurate a fashion in this city very much in vogue in the country.

The Covenant was organized in 1853, and its financial condition is healthy, its total assets being some four hundred thousand dollars, while its total 1 labilities are only sixty-three thousand.
From the date of its organization we conceive it to be one of the oldest companies in the West. We congratulate the officers of the Covenant in the appointment of Mr. D. as their agent. Should Mr. D. succeed in the management, of the Covenant, as he did the Empire, he will add to its character and standing.
