"There is no?, one man in the Ilcven-e Department here v.lio exerts a particle of political iidlueiice, and the success of the party here Mit inds some change. The party is crying for it. If Icoulfl see you, I would tell you much more than I like to commit to paper even worse than 1 have written, and equally true. Yet might not as easily prove it. I have gained my knowledge of the whole aii'air in the on ii a to el it a betraying that contidence, and the only apology I can make for doing so great an act of injustice is that my duty to you is stronger than my word or confidence to one who is instrumental in defrauding the Government and ruining your reputation, for 11 the frauds ofyour appointees fall upon you and the party. Buffalo Hunt.
On the iirst day of December, 1S70, two voting but. experienced hunters named 'respectively Ki-her (familiarly known as t'.iou rikiu.") and C. II. Mi'dei*, came upon a iierd of buti'alo near the liepublican river, in the southern part of Nebraska. Tiioy each s"lected an aninnl and tired, wounding- both. One of the bulTalocs, enraged by bis wound, made :i slash at l^isher, who unfortunately, at the last shot, had i-stened in i"ii^ sruu :i shell from the cartridge, whieli, for I lie time being, rendered it useless, and this was the exact condition of Miller's rifle. Fisher being without a revolver, Miller jumped^ between his friend and the brute, and fired, but witiiout mortal effect. The charging buffalo gave Miller fi severe hurt, knocking him about ten feet, and iearing his coat with his horns from skirt to collar. Luckily for the young man, ho came down erect upon li is foot, but the enraged animal was upon him immediately, when, jumping over his head, he seated himself upon the buHalo's back, where, clinging by his mane, with revolver he shot him directly in the eye. Jioth buffaloes were secured and brought into^ crimp. This istory may appear a little fishy, hut any member of the Republican Land Claim
Association who was of the party encamped in the vicinity at the time, will vouch for its truthfulness.

The British army wnc-n it advanced on Talavara and fought the celebrated battle, which was followed by a retreat into the plains, lost more men by the malarial diseases contracted on the banks of the Gaudiana than by tiie bullets of the enemy. They died by thousands All Europe beiieveif thai tlio im acting army was extirpated. Yet malarial diseases are no more common in Europe than in our own country they exist throughout the length and breadth of our land—everywhere at some time and in some shape are we made to feel tiie sickailing influence of miasm. The three great actors in this equation of disease are solar heat, moi-.ture, and vegetable decomposition. The tlio, if separated, are harmless together they are more potent- for evil than any other known agents so long as they exist, just so long will we have need of a medicine which will overcome their pernicious elleets, so long will it be necessary to have a remedy capable of meeting and beating the insidious enemy. Of all known agents for this purpose, none is to compare with Edward Wilder's Chill Tonic, the master of every form and variety and grade and degree of malarial disease and of miasmatic poison. Try it, all you who are suffering from any form of ague and fever or chills and fever, as a cuie is guaranteed in every case.

A distinguished physiologist hasdeelared that it seems to be a principle of nature that every situation capable of supporting organic bodies should t.e peopled with them. The huge wnateis often driven to mac'.t-ss by an almost invisible member of tiie tribe of venvi.v,. Tiie history of iielminthology abounds in illustrations of the inlluence of worms in the production of disease and in the exasperation of their symptoms. The frequency oi worms in the bodies of men their obviousness to tiie senses, together with their common connection with enfeebled and morbid states ot tiie animal economy, all tend to render them an object of int..-rest from the remotest periods. The very ablest minds have been devoted to the study of these enfoza with tiie view of discovering some substance wliici was capable of speedily, safely and permanently expelling them trom the human sytem. EiWAlll) WthDEH'S .Motiiku's "Woiim fSYUUI' is a true vermicide, a geunine worm destroyer, a bona jide vermiiuge. Its taste is delightful, its c'l'ects are quick, its results unfailing. It is free from danger. 2\'o intestinal worm can live in its presense. Mot iters! destroy the worms which infe.si your little ones, with this deiighlful syrup.

This renowned Fr»ne1i man did more perhaps to clear up tiie mysteries which before liis time had invested the nature of chest, diseases than any other physician lie. ever lived. Yet wit ii all his ski 11 in detecting lie nature and form of the malady before him, he was sadly deficient in his knowledge of remedies, lie drew vivid pictures of coughs, cokis, pleurisy, consumption, croup, bronchitis, catarrhs and all the affections of tlic iiir passages still lie left be.t few words concerning their treatment. The youngest physician to-day knows better how to manage any one of -these eh est troubles lie knows the value of the wild cherry he is acquainted with its supreme virtues he is aware of the many potent agents which enter into the combination of Jb'dtvard Wilder-f, Compound Extract of Wild Cherry, and knows that with the use of this truly great medicine he is fully master of tiie situation, He has no fear in the presence of croup, no misgivings at the advance of bronchitis lie grapples with consumption, and subdues every cough, cold, or catarrh, lleuce every family should always have this invaluable medicine at hand.
indigestion.
""Wliicli makes sleep a pain, and turns its balm to wormwood," is, wc all know, tlio most, common of all the disorders of th. stomach. It. is also the most obstinate. It has bec-n the most written about. No disease presents such various, contrary, and incompatible symptoms. They contradict all the laws of order, constancy and inconsistency, which reguiate natural events they bother the doctor, and can only he read by him who is skilled in (.he book of nature. It is self evident that the different forms of indigestion are to be met hy corresponding methods of cure. It has been said that the perfection of medical skill is tiu: talent of applying to eacii individual case its precise and as it were, its individual cure. This is the object, which every conscientious physician pursues unceasingly, and never can rest-satisfied until he has overtaken. Edward Wi'd*'r'x nti'uiarh Ttittrrx, their body being the purest of copper-distilled Whisky, makes this object attainable alike to all. They area specific—the disease specifying the remedy, not the remedy the disease. They are a combination of substances which meet (iie speciality ot tiie disorder- by a corresponding speciality ol cure. They should be kept in every well-regu-lated family thoy are indispensable to health

upon tiie pit of the stomach of a child, will cause the bowels to be emptied, and alioes kept in contact with a raw surface will produce same elft c-t as if thv medicine hud been taken into the stomach. So said the great Dr. Clutteiback. Very many persons know the operation of croion oil when j.laced upon the tongue, to say the least, it is speedy. Purgatives ui some slia e, are indispensable in tiie practice of medicine. Alaiiy diseases are incurable witiiout them and ail of tiie simple uisoniers of the system are benefitted by their use. Tne greatuesideratuai in theii administration has been to get one which has either laxative or purgative, as was needed—always mild but always ellicient—and the use of'which did not make it necessary to continue its use. Tills hasat last been done. Edward Wildek'sFamlly Tili»s fultiii all the requirements of tiie case. They area laxative, yet sure purgative, vet mild, in sniaii doses, they meet the first want in large doses, tiioy fulfill the latter but whatever quantity given, they create no lieessity for they create no morbid state of the alimentary canal tube, butleave it cleansed and urge it to renewed health. They are, in brief, a blessing to the individual who surfers from constipation and needs a laxative, and are indispensable to him who is parched witli fever and requires a purgative. Use them, all you wiio value heallh.
