NILSSON.—Tlio salo of seats to the Xilsson Concert, to be given in this city next Tuesday evening, commenced at Bartiett & Co.'s book store this morning at 9 o'clock, according to previous anncement, upon wliicb occasion that establishment, promptly to the hour, was filled with an enthusiastic and anxious crowd, each one betraying more or less anxiety and impatience to secure choice seats. The rush would have been much reater had il not been that very many gentlemen purchased from ten to fifteen tickets each, having made previous arrangements with other to purchase their tickets and thus avoid confusion.

Pleas ol Indianapolis has determined that nrol'essionni jurors, moil who hang around :ho court-room for the purpose of beinjr placed on juries, shaii not serve in his Court. A good move.—Albany Ledger.

Can'tthe Judges of the various courts of Torre Haute adopt a similar rule? AVe know of about half a dozen men in this city and vicinity who are "professional jurors," men who make it their business to lounge around the Court House with no other object that to get picked up and placed in a jury x, as a means ol obtaining a livelihood. It is an outrage on the community that should not be tolerated under any circumstances. They would sell themselves out to the highest bidder had they an opportunity, and there is no doubt but that they often do this very thing. We have several cases now in mind where violators of the law have been acquitted by professional juries, who should have served a term in Jeffersonville. If this outrage is continued, we shall publish some of the names of these professionals.

PERSONAL.—Hon. PI. D. Scott and Speaker Alack returned from Indianapolis last evening.

Mr. John S. Beach returned from Chicago last night. Mr. N. P. Bowler, of Cleveland, Ohio, was at the Terre Haute House yesterday and returned home by the night train. Mr. Bowler carries on a very extensive manufactory of car wheels in Cleveland, and was in our city for the purpose of consulting with our leading spirits in railroad enterprises, with a view to the ad vancement of his business interests.

Mr. Thos. Taylor, of New York, general agent of the Nilsson concert troupe, is stopping at the Terre Haute House, as is also Mr. Picoli, of the same troupe.

STILL TIIEY Go.—Up to the time of our going to press, (half-past two o'clock), about eighteen hundred dolars worth of tickets to the great Nilsson Concert were sold, and the demand was still active. During the first hour of the sale over twelve hundred dollars was taken in, which is something unparalleled in the financial success of concerts and theaters in this city. Tickets are stiil being sold steadily, though the great rush for choice seats is now over. There are a few yet for sale in the ochcstra, balcony and dress circle, and a good many yet unsold in the family circle. Those wishing good seats should secure them without delay, as the house will be crowded to its utmost capacity.

IMPORTANT TO ADVERTISERS.—The needed reform in the newspaper business is that it shall be conducted and recognized like any other legitimate business. Let the fact be seen and acted upon, that the insertion of an advertisement in a newspaper is a circumstance that bears some resemblance to other human affairs —that the circulation the advertisement is to receive is to be taken into consideration—that the editor has no right that anybody is bound to respect that everybody has not got aud that he has exactly as many rights as if he sold groceries or run a law olnce, or was engaged in an\r other reasonably proper occupation.

ATTEMPTED BCKGL.VY.—This morning, about four o'clock, a couple of enterprising villians might have been seen busily engaged in trying to effect an entrance into the grocery store of AA7illiam AVoodruir, on East Main street and in fact, they were seen by a gentleman who happened to be passing that way, whose approach frightened them away without securing any of the spoils. The scoundrels had succeeded in removing the puttoy from a large window glas door, an 1 removing the pane. They had just effected this when they wereiutenupted, and iled. j.-"
