As early as half-past seven o'clock, the beautiful and comfortable audience room and gallery of that splendid edifice, were filled to their utmost capacity with an anxious and expectant audience of the lovers of good sacred music, and if we arc to judge from the frequent and rapturous outbursts of applause that greeted the rendering of the various selections, we should say that the occasion was a most enjoyable, aud the audience a most appreciative one.
The programme was opened with a full chorus, "To thee, O Lord, to thee" at the close of which, the Davis iuimly sang in their usual excellent manner, "Let the Angel- Come In." Following which came a full chorus entitled "City of the Lord," which was rendered in line style at the close of whicii li»if. O'Kano sang with much fervor and effect, "Bill and Joe." By request, Prof. Paige then sang "Mr.- Lotf and J," which was v. armly applauded.
This was followed by a charming duett by the Misses Hughes, with a violin acccmpayment by Mr. Harry Owens which was*rendered in a most excellent style and was greeted with rapturous applause by the delighted audience. The Misses Hughes aud Messrs. Davis and Paris then sang a quatette entitled "c-ateo Through Another Week," winch was also rendered in line style.
By request, Prof. O'lvane then sang "My Trundle Bed," remarking, parenthetically, previous to singing, that he iloped that the good people of Torre Haute had not abandoned the use ot that delightful luxury known as "trundlebeds," which provoked a hearty outburst of laughter. The song was rendered as only Prof. O'Kano can render it and was enthusiastically applauded.
Then followed a solo and chorus entitled, "Roll tho Clouds Away," Mr. Henry Teel executing the solo in fine style. Tho audience was then favored wiih a full chorus entitled "Behold the Stranger at the Door," which was followed by another "Hold the Light Up Higher." By request of llev. Mr. Hill, a beautiful solo and chorus, with Prof. O'Kane as solo, followed, at the close of which, the programme was concluded with "The Tempest," a flue discriptive peace by Prof. O'Kane.
Ilev. James Hill then pronounced the benediction, and the large and enraptured audience dispersed to their homes, favorably impressed with the evening'^ entertainment, and we have no doubt that we utter the sentiment of the entire audience when we say, may Prof. O'Kane and his able support of last evening "live long and be happy." We wish to add, in justice to the Professor, that he is the author of that jewel of Sacred music entitled the "Dew Drop," from which nearly all the beautiful selections of last evening were made. May he come often, and may many copies of his valuable work remain in our city when he is gone.

The entire troupe comes to lis recommended in the most flattering terms by tiie press of the Old aud New World, and our citizens should turn out

aud go to the concert next Tuesday evening, for we predict that it will be such a musical treat as was never known in the history of Terre Haute, or Indiana. The sale of tickets will commence at Bartlett & Co.'s book store, 101 Main street, Saturday, Jan. 14, at 9 A. M. Secure a ticket at as early a date as possible, for large orders are now coming in from the surrounding towns and cities to secure seats for the occasion. One from Mattoon, Illinois, to secure fifty for a delegation from that city and a genileman from Perry ville, this day left $100 with Bartlett&Co., to purchase tickets for this grand concert.
Terre Haute Pharmacy is the very
appropriate name given to a very neat and beautiful drug store established in this city by Dr. A. Arnaud, in the new block of Mr.
R.
Buckle, located on the
southeast cornerof Fifth and Ohio.stroets, the Dr. having leased the western division of the buildup for live years with the refusal of it for ten years.
The Dr. is having the lower room fitted up in magnificent style as a drug store, where he will keep everything in the line of drugs, medicines, fancy soaps, etc., in endless variety, and will take particular pains to always keep none but the freshest and purest articles to be found in any drug store in the West. The Dr. has also employed a skillful and experienced prescription clerk, who is a very courteous and accommodating gentleman, and who will make it his especial business to promptly discharge the duties of his posi tion. Call and see them.

Common Pleas Court, Hon. John
P. Baird presiding, in the absence of Judge Scott at Indiauapoiis, convened yesterday at 2 P. M. and the case of Burton and J. A. Hays, of Sullivan,
B. Johns. Esq., of this city, was called and tried by jury. The above case is one which the plaiutiffs claim damages of defendant to tin amount of $350 for a breach of contract in not delivering them lumber in a specified time. Messrs. Buff, ofSulliva«, and I. N. Pierce of this city, for ..plaintiffs and Richard Dunnigan, Esq., for defendant. The case is yet on trial.
Grand Jury is still in session and
is having more and more of business each day, which they dispose of with all tho dispatch possible. This industrious body returned thirty-three indictments in one day, which we think is without a parallel in the history of Grand Juries of this city. The body will adjourn to-mor
having performed its mission to tiie entire satisfaction of the Court and Piosecuting Attorney, who should know when its work is well done.
