“Happy is the bride whom the sun shines on," say tho old poets. If this be true, the omens were good, for rich sunlight rested on grove and towa on Thursday afternoon last, when a largo company of friends met at the residence of Dr. Harris, of Carpentersville. The hign contracting parties were preceded into
kid pelibf<f 'goat * t * le roo,u Wm. Bosson, of Greoncastlo,
and Miss Mary Baker, of Roachdale. Mr. John L. Bridges, of Fincastle, and Miss Vina Harris, of Carpentersville, were pronounced man and wife through divine and legal sanction, by Elder Colvin, of the Crawfosdsville district. The ceremony was short but impressive. The congratulations of relatives and friends were numerous and warm. The bride wore a dress of soft, rich material, of a neutral brown color; orange blossoms were arranged at the throat and wreathed in the hair. The groom wore the conventional black. The guests met at a rich repast and all fared sumptu-
ously.
On Friday a dinner was tendered at the residence of the groom’s fathe r, R. L. Bridges, of Fincastle. The kind hospitality and generous attention of Mr. Bridges and w ife rendered every one at home. The repast was especially elegant. Good taste was displayed in the easy manner, which dispensed with all formality. The young couple will reside on (he groom’s farm one mile north of Fincastle. They enter life joyously, with health, strength and beauty around them, and attended by plenty. V r e hope

AMERICAN LADIES.
The first impression Sara Bernhardt received o*' tho American ladies manifested itself thusly: “Oh ! ze ladies, za are so beautiful, such clear complexion 1 nevare sec before,” all of which is due to the universal use of Swayno’s Ointment for skin diseases, which insures a clear and clean complexion, and a healthy color. This recalls to mind the divine precept, "cleanliness is next to Godliness." oct
